Location

This hotel is situated at the foot of the Alps, close to the German border. It is housed in a typical Old Town building on Linzergasse, near Mirabellgarten. There are restaurants in the immediate vicinity, bars and the bus station and other links to the public transport network around 400 metres away, and shops and nightlife roughly 700 metres away. Mozarteum and the Old Town are both 300 metres from the hotel, and the city centre is 1000 m away.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1400. 26 rooms, including 4 single rooms and 17 double rooms, are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. There are a number of shops as well. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Further services include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service and a coin-operated laundry. Complimentary newspapers are available. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Individually adjustable heating ensures that rooms maintain just the right temperature. Rooms have a double bed or a queen-size bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe provides secure storage for guests' personal property. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Guests will also find slippers in their rooms. Bathrooms include a hairdryer and are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

    Our stay at the Hotel Amadeus in Salzburg during the Christmas period was nothing short of enchanting. This boutique hotel is an absolute gem.We booked a two-room suite, and it was the epitome of cozy comfort. The interior design was so tasteful and inviting, with a perfect blend of historic charm and modern amenities, that I now want to remodel my own home to match its style! It felt like a true home away from home.The hotel itself, housed in a beautiful historic building, offers an authentic and intimate atmosphere that provides a wonderful contrast to the larger, impersonal chain hotels. A lovely touch was the coffee machine on the ground floor—perfect for a warming cup anytime.The location is simply spectacular. Being steps away from the serene St. Sebastian's Church and its ancient cemetery added a profound sense of history and peace to our visit, especially during the festive season. I wholeheartedly recommend the Hotel Amadeus to anyone seeking a unique, charming, and perfectly located stay in Salzburg.

    We had a wonderful night at Hotel Amadeus in Salzburg. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a lovely bathroom, and the hotel has thoughtful touches like cozy mini breakfast spaces and a comfortable lounge area—perfect for warming up and relaxing after exploring the cold streets outside. The location is ideal, nestled in the newer part of town but close enough to easily reach the charming old city center and all the shops and restaurants. It’s exactly the kind of place you want after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommended.

    Excellent hotel in a great location. Bedroom are really nice with very comfortable beds. The lounge is a great space to meet with complimentary coffee and cake on tap! Staff are great, really helpful. The hotel is reasonably priced.If you want a clean and tidy hotel that is a five min walk from the river I would highly recommend Amadeus.

    Great location, but no AC, nonstop church bells, 🔔 🔔🔔, no staff after 6 PM, and no real breakfast—basically a nightmare stay

    Clean ,comfortable and immaculately clean hotel. In a great location within walking distance of the old town just over the river. Tea and coffee ( free) all day and croissants on a morning €1.50 and €2.50 depending on which one you choose. There's beer and wine in the fridge in the same area. You use the honesty box by filling in a form saying what you've had,and they charge it to your room. The bells from the Church next door chimed every 15 minutes but didn't bother us,very few cars if any came down the street but cyclists were a nuisance, they should get off and walk. A bar,restaurants and a few shops were on the street outside the area of the hotel. Lovely bathroom with nice clean white towels,tissues and plenty of toilet rolls. Take no notice of the moaners ,it's worth staying in our humble opinion.
