  Unprofessional staff and dirty toilet

  I booked a twin room with separate beds since October. When we arrived at the hotel (December 29), we were given a room with only one bed so we went down to the reception to tell them that the room we were given was wrong. When we arrived at the reception, we hadn't finished speaking to the person assigned to the front office when the woman I don't know if she was the manager or the front office manager suddenly barged in without even letting us finish speaking and told us to go back to the room because they were going to send housekeeping staff to separate the bed. We wanted to say that the bed couldn't be separated because there was only one bed box but because of the somewhat sarcastic speech of the woman who barged in at the reception, we just went back to the room to tell the person they were going to send our concern. We waited for almost an hour but no one came so we just went down to follow up. When we arrived at the reception, they told us that the housekeeping staff would arrive at 5pm. But it was only 4pm so we said that the bed could not be separated because there was only one bed box so we were given a room from room 310 to 122. I coudnt imagine that the person in charge in the desk even the mananger doesnt know what kind of room they are giving or which bed are not ment for sepating beds. The room was big but the toilet smelled of urine with one missing toilet roll and the bath mat used was a handtowel. Their room key was also deactivated so it needed to be replaced at the reception and no one made up our room on the 2nd day of our stay which I am not aware also if the cleaning service is upon request or not since there is no information . The only good thing is the location of the hotel which is close to town.   Staying for 3 nights although only given room coffee for first night. Wife ask can we have coffee for second night were told no. First time we have every been refused any coffee for our second night of stay. If you enjoy a coffee or tea in your room in the morning dont stay here. The most bizzare policy ever.   Very bad smelling room with stained/dirty carpets

  Reserved 2 rooms for 2 nights(Aug 2-4) One for our kids and one for wife and I. Did not have high expectations due to warnings from locals, and thought we'd be okay. We were wrong. Our room (217) smelled like moldy meat. Carpet had large dark stains in 4 different locations with surface debris/dirt and the carpet was clearly a mess from previous users which had not been properly cleaned. Checked w front desk clerk, no spare rooms for us to switch to and no housekeeping. We asked for cleaning products to clean room ourselves, we were not allowed. Desk clerk agreed to have room cleaned if we left the room for the evening. We removed our luggage and left to visit friends for the evening. Returned back to the room very late after dinner and nothing had been cleaned. I convinced the night clerk to giving me an armful of bath towels for me to clean the room.myself with the towels and bath soap. 30min of scrubbing and 5 now nasty dirty towels down, i made the room usable enough. It still smells, but we literally had no choice. Should have left when we had the chance.   Very bad security

  It is my 1st night ( from 2) the room was clean but the bathroom walls are transparent ( made of glass), I did not like it especially if you have kidsSecond and the most important thing, I woke up and found that someone tried to break into the roomI updated the reception and they gave me a new ( small room that does not fit to three people ), I did not see any security team neither police involved, it is first time happens to me!The main door is missing a guard or security, I felt so disappointed about this room especially that is considered a 4* hotelThe reception react was so cold , no more that “we are sorry” Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg Team, Geschäftsführer at PLAZA Premium Salzburg, responded to this review Dear Traveller,thank you for your feedback.   Average Stay – Not Ideal for Families with Teens

  We stayed at the Best Western Plus in Salzburg and found the hotel to be clean and generally well-kept. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of options. The staff were helpful and attentive, and the overall environment was quiet and peaceful.However, the room setup wasn’t ideal for our family, especially with teens. The toilet and shower are separated from the rest of the room only by frosted glass, which offers minimal privacy—shapes and outlines are clearly visible, making it feel a bit too exposed. Additionally, the air conditioning in our room didn’t work very well, which made sleeping uncomfortable during warmer nights.While there were some positives, I don’t think we’d choose this hotel again, mainly due to the room layout and lack of adequate cooling.
