Quiet stay in St. Wolfang
07 Jul 2026
We stayed at Hotel Försterhof for two nights and overall had a pleasant stay. The location is excellent, with free parking, a private beach, and friendly staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast offered a good selection of regional products, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre of St. Wolfgang. On the downside, the mattress was extremely soft, the room had a few maintenance issues (a loose tap and a cracked sink), and we found the drinks at the hotel restaurant overpriced for what they were. Overall, it's a good hotel with some great amenities, but there are a few areas that could be improved.

Our experience in Frosterhof Hotel
03 Jul 2023
The location of hotel is perfect and very clean , The room '106' is a large one with lovely views but no sign of Luxury anywhere in the hotel; everthing is basic but somehow gives the feeling of contentment and relaxation. The bed is comfortable but the pillows are extremely soft and uncomfortable with no head support. The breakfast and evening meals were excellent and big thank you to the chef. There is lacking of atmosphere inside the hotel particularly the restaurant so in the evening we felt that we were in a mission rather than on a holiday. The staff are very helpful and friendly and we appreciated a lot when the manager Weiser changed our room from 212 to 106. This was very essential to enjoy our week stay. It was also very convenient to purchase the trains tickets from the hotel instead of queuing up for them in the nearby station. Our departure was early before the opening hours of restaurant the manager offered us breakfast at an earlier time which was really appreciated that he accommodated our needs perfectly. Yes I would recommend the hotel and definitely will return back as we adore the area. Please bear in mind that this is not a four stars hotel and is with basic facilities. So keep your expectations modest in order to appreciat it fully.

A nice surprise

We stay 2 nights at this nice hotel. Great support at reception, great service and great suite. Hotel is 500 mts from downtown but is quite. They have also 2 Tesla wallbox and one generic wallbox for customers not free of charge. Great breakfast and cordiality. Highly recommend!! Congratulations to the staff

Lovely quiet family hotel with great food
21 Aug 2022
Lovely hotel set back from the lake and outside the centre of the village. The private beach is a short walk away and there is car parking at the hotel which is unusual in St Wolfgang. We took half board and the evening meal is really good with a meat option, a fish option( often local lake fish) and a vegetarian option. Breakfast is first class too. We were three( my wife and i and our fourteen year old daughter, and we had a family room with a separate bedroom for our daughter which was ideal. The village itself is very charming and the region breathtaking in its beauty. A visit to the Kaiservilla in Bad Ischel was great. Highly recommended !

Absolutely amazing.

Had the most amazing experience in St Wolfgang, largely due to the Forsterhof hotel. Brilliant and friendly staff, our room (105) looked out onto the mountains and it was so relaxed and peaceful. Clean, tidy and a very peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner were both prepared and served in a manner youd see in the classiest of restraunts. The hotel sits in a very quiet location about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town so if you want a quiet retreat I would highly recommend this place.Special shootout to Sabine in reception who helped us with our time here and gave us great advice on what to do and see as we had never been here before. Everytime we had a small problem (which was rare) or needed something she assisted us without any hesitation and she did it all with a smile on her face. The waiting staff were so polite and professional and even though there was a slight language barrier at times they done their duties to the absolute finest and couldnt fault them at any point. On our arrival we were very late and missed dinner due to a delayed flight..they turned up to our room with drinks and a platter of food which we really appreciated as we hadn't eaten properly all day.The small private beach is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and you're provided with free sunbeds, umbrellas, towels and a very chilled time sitting by the lake.Thank you Forsterhof for having us and for making our trip here an even better experience than we could have hoped for. If we ever return, you will definitely be high on the list of places to stay again. From room 105 (July 13 - 20); Danke Schön! ?
