Location

This legendary romantic hotel at Lake Wolfgang is situated in the heart of St. Wolfgang in Austria. There are links to the public transport network at St. Wolfgang market, around 3 minutes' walk from the hotel, and Bad Ischl and its train station are roughly 15 km away. The Postalm ski area is a 30-minute drive from the hotel, Salzburg is approximately 50 minutes by car, Bad Ischl Kaiservilla is 20 minutes' drive and the Dachstein ice caves are roughly 45 minutes by car from the hotel.

Facility

18 junior suites, 7 suites, 11 apartments, 11 single rooms and 58 double rooms are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. A cloakroom, a baggage storage service and a safe are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a playroom and a library.     Recently returned from an excellent holiday in all aspects at the Weisses Roessl. Food and service was excellent as always and had the bonus of our 30 yr award visiting Weisses Roessl. Look forward to seeing you again in August.

    As always, we had a fabulous time at this beautiful hotel. We stayed with friends across the Christmas week and the experience was magical. The hotel go out of their way to make it a memorable experience, from helping to dress the Christmas Trees with the other hotel guests to the beautiful family gathering on Christmas Eve when the owner and her father and children gave a lovely lead into Christmas. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated throughout, the spa is superb , and the breakfast is the best I have ever had. I have stayed at the hotel on numerous occasions, and you see many familiar faces from other returning guests. I think that sums things up, it is a place that you will want to return to again and again.

    Decline of service in the hotel

    We are regular guests at the hotel, directly and through booking.com too. This time my husband mistakenly booked a half board stay through booking.com. We usually are not satisfied with the dinner as a part of the half board because it takes a long time and the portions are small. Upon arrival we asked at the reception desk if we could change the status of the stay to a stay with breakfast only. The receptionist confirmed the change to us. I made sure again with a reminder that the stay was ordered via booking.com. The receptionist confirmed us the change. We were suprised that we had to load our luggage onto a trolley ourselves and brought it to our room ourselves . Another unpleasant suprising was that the room cards worked for 1 day only. We were left standing in front of the our room door for three times because the room card did not work. It was very unpleasant situation to take lift to the 4.floor, to find out the cards do not work, to go to the reception desk, to wait here because the group of japanes guests came and the receptionist was only one there.At the end of our stay was another women on the reception desk.My bill was not reduced by the dinners from the half-board that we did not attend. I explained my request to the receptionist, but I was strictly refused, explaining that when we booked the stay through booking.com, the status of the stay can not be changed and that no money will be refunded. I tried to explaine the mistaken confirmation of her colleague upon arrival, saying that we were misled and with the bad result we did not get the money back and did not have half-board. I was repeatedly refused, and very unpleasantly. The password: the customer our master, certainly does not apply in this hotel. When I requested to call a superior, I was told that I was talking to the daughter of the house, so it is not possible to complain to anybody else.So the result: we did not have half-board, did not get the money back or any small apology for the bad information from their employee upon arrival. At the departure we had to upload our luggage .I think that the aproach of the daughter of the house can lead to the bad results for the hotel. We definitelly have to find another hotel in the destination Wolfgang.
