  WARNING! NIGHTMARE, THEFT, MAJOR LOSSES & APATHYBooked from November 14-18. In my first hours, my MacBook & iPad were STOLEN from my bed WHILE I WAS SLEEPING by a thief A&T negligently admitted into my room, despite the thief being blacklisted across all major booking platforms for prior thefts in Europe. They also violated Austrian national law, because the thief's address was not logged in their system properly.This nightmare cost me my devices, PLUS over $10,000 in lost scholarships. Emotionally, I went from enjoying solo travel to developing medically diagnosed severe anxiety, fear, and a trauma of traveling and staying in hostels solo.I temporarily visited Budapest, attempting to recover my laptop. The night I returned to Austria, I spoke (AND RECORDED THE CONVERSATION) with an older receptionist that strongly suggests staff complicity. He initially pretended ignorance of the theft when I asked if the thief had returned, but then showed no surprise or empathy. Upon further questioning, he began to physically shake, and his voice trembled. He flatly refused to provide his name. [Do you want a copy of the recording? Just ask, and it is yours!]In May, A&T Hostel completely ignored my formal, detailed request letter for mediation. When I escalated the issue to the Tourism Board of Austria, the hostel claimed they "actively supported the guest in locating his devices via the "Find My" feature on his iPhone" This is very aughable; all I had to do was open the app on my own phone. A&T also lied saying "according to the information available tous, the affected guest had left his passport and wallet unsecured in the bathroom" What a joke! I have 2 passports (and a wallet), of which neither were stolen and I never reported them as such. Plus, how would they "know"? Are they monitoring guests with cameras inside the rooms?AVOID THIS HOSTEL AT ALL COSTS. Their blatant disregard for guest safety, legal compliance, and basic accountability is vile and frightful. Their subsequent dishonesty with the Tourism Board of Austria are even written confirmation of their behavior. AVOID THIS HOSTEL.For context, I first knew the name of the thief because he stupidly left his son's ID in the room (and A&T receptionist also confirmed by checking the logs)Photo 1: The thief information in A&T records, given to me by the receptionist when I reported the theft (No worries about doxing -- notice how the information is incomplete and the few are fake? I audiorecorded our entire conversation. If you want a copy, just ask! :)I went after my laptop in Budapest and visited the same hostel the thief stayed the night. The receptionists confirmed his stay there, gave me photos of the camera, and told me he was blacklisted across all major booking platforms for prior thefts in Europe. Meaning A&T not only "forgot" (or was it on purpose?) to log the thief's true address, but did not do due dilligence in confirming his data in the platforms.

  Staff is super nice and friendly. We booked mini apartment from 17.01.25 to 19.01.25 . Consist with fridge, microwave, electric induction and cooking-wares. Apartment is nice and clean. Space is enough for two people. Bathroom is clean and tidy. Place is convenient, supermarket and U-bhan is close by.

  this was my first solo trip and i was a bit nervous to say the least. however this hostel was amazing and exceeded my expectations. it was warm, clean and incredibly safe (something important for a young solo female traveler). the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. it’s a 10min walk to the U1 line and from there you can very easily get into the city centre. when i next visit vienna ill 1000% be staying here again!

  Needed a last minute room when our apartment in the same street had a blocked toilet and we had to decamp! A&T had a room left. This is a hostel and the room was family - 2 single beds and a bunk bed and a shower room. Linen & towels were spotless and the beds & pillows really comfortable. The staff were very helpful and Josef kindly moved us to a quieter room for last 2 nights. We understand the managers have taken over the business and are renovating & will be converting rooms to hotel standard, am sure they will do a good job of it. The breakfast is very basic (no eggs!) but you could bring in your own food if you wanted to (fridge, storage service which is handy). No kettle etc in the rooms but looks like guests have access to kitchen 24 hrs. Ice cream & drinks, coffee etc available to buy in lobby. Location is good - 7 minute walk to Tram 0 (to Wien Hbf) or 10 mins walk to U-Bahn at Reumannplatz. (That’s just off the city map, after Keplerstr U-Bahn).

  1 liked the rooms and the daily housekeeping. The bathrooms came with hand gel, toilet roll and body wash. There were towels to rent and the property felt safe. The staff were very kind and helpful. Very close to Ubahn station and there’s shops nearby (all shops shut on sunday though. no breakfast for me that day) Although there is a bar it wasn't open in the 6 nights. 1 stayed at the property from a Friday-Wednesday (6nights) and each bed has an individual light so in case of rude room mates who leave the light on all night (until you awkwardly reach across at 4am because your sick of your life and turn it off) that can be an issue.The hostel does say to turn lights off when you go to sleep however there is no official rule. Also I didn’t see any breakfast when I was there, but I didn’t pay for breakfast or ask for it so I’m unsure. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Pool table was broken but football tables were a slay.
