  I have booked many times thru booking.com while visiting europe for last decade and have never faced an unpleasant experience but this hotel is racist. Despite paying on 7th January 2026 itself, the bespectacled man at the front desk screamed at me, accused me of not paying, i showed the message from my bank still he pretended to keep referring to the computer in his office, the hotel is not conducive to people of color , location is unsafe keplerplatz with loonies at night. This is for the 1st time, such a discriminatory behavior was faced by me ,i have been a regular patron of TripAdvisor.

  I stayed at the Hotel Caroline for two nights with my family of four in July 2025. We were there to explore the city and were very happy with our choice of hotel.The 10. Bezirk where the hotel is located is said to be one of the worst areas of Vienna, but we never felt unsafe walking the streets in the area. We thought the hotel was conveniently located as the walk to the closest Underground station takes just a few minutes and then it’s just three stops to the city center. There are lots of restaurants close-by and there’s a supermarket right next to the hotel. The hotel looks a little run-down from the outside, but not at all when you enter the building. We were pleasantly surprised when we came in! We had a family room which was clean, very spacious – the two sleeping areas for us and our boys being separated by a shelf unit – nicely furnished and equipped with the usual amenities. Our only slight problem was that the A/C didn’t work properly so that the room got slightly too hot at times. We didn’t complain, though, as we were only there for two nights and the situation was far from unbearable.Breakfast was buffet style and was very good with lots of choices. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Value for money was very good. We would definitely stay at Hotel Caroline again.

  The room, especially the bed, was very comfortable. The breakfast was also good, they offered gluten free bread to guests who had intolerances. Unfortunately the hot water in the shower was only warm, absolutely not hot. For parking your car in their garage, you will have to pay an extra €15. Breakfast does not cater for dairy intolerance - no idea of alternative milk. Receptionist asked us to bring that ourselves. Location wise, not far from station... 50 minute walk from St Stephen's/ center.

  Don't be put off by the slightly shabby exterior - this is a very pleasant hotel and excellent value.

  The interior is nicely furnished and decorated; our bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable (although the bath sides are a bit high for the elderly (like me). The breakfast, in a bright and airy room was fine and the staff all very pleasant and helpful. Some of the immediate surrounding streets are a bit grubby, but just a block away there are loads of lively bars and restaurants and, more importantly, a metro station just 3 stops from the lovely city centre.Only complaint....no tea/coffee facilities ion the bedroom.
