  Lovely hotel with easy access to central Vienna

  Lovely hotel very well located for WU (Business University), the exhibition hall and the train into central (old) Vienna in only 5-10mins. Very welcoming and felt safe as a solo traveller. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was also excellent.   Great hotel near conference centre

  Stayed here with colleagues whilst attending aConference nearby. The train station is a 2 minute walk and the conference centre is about 5 minutes away. Friendly hotel, great staff. Clean, large room with very comfortable bed. Nice toiletries and good wifi. Didn’t have breakfast at hotel but there is a bakery opposite the train station which sells lovely coffee and pastries.About 15 mins on train to centre of Vienna.   Not worth the hassle

  This hotel, which I have tended to choose when in Vienna mainly because of its full gym, is getting to be too much of a hassle.1) As a titanium Marriott Bonvoy member, I get 9€ per day to spend on consumption at the hotel (18€ when there are two of us). That doesn’t come anywhere close to covering the ridiculous cost of the hotel breakfast. One would like to have the flexibility to combine two or more days of this food & beverage credit, but the hotel doesn’t allow this, even if one is leaving so early the next day that it would be impossible to spend the money. The obvious motive behind such a rule is that it serves the interests of the hotel, nothing else.2) In a normal hotel, there is a little mini-market at which one can also spend the food and beverage credit. Here there is such a mini-market, but guess what? The hotel claims that this is operated by a separate entity, so that the credit cannot be applied there. Of course, it would be a simple matter for the hotel – which actually handles sales at the mini-market; it’s not like there’s any separate staff – to make any required transfers so as to facilitate the use of the credit at the mini-market. That the hotel doesn’t do this is, yet again, just a way of ensuring that the guest doesn’t actually spend the credit.3) One can try to treat the breakfast as if it were à la carte, which it isn’t. Success at this depends on who happens to be managing the breakfast at a given moment. The first day, the staff member welcoming guests to breakfast had no problem with this, and charged us a very reasonable 2.50€ for two small rolls with hummus and some cherry tomatoes. The second day, another staff member on duty insisted that such a thing was impossible, absolutely not an option. After some discussion, she relented, but charged us 14.50€ for the exact same thing that had cost 2.50€ the previous morning. There is no rhyme or reason to any of this.4) It took multiple attempts to get an invoice. Such a simple thing, but if there's one thing Marriott is consistent about , it's standing between the guest and a simple invoice.5) Points have been credited for the stay, but of course not correctly. The 250 points I was told I could get for doing without room cleaning are nowhere to be found. So, I have to either do without them or go to the bother of calling.My next visit to Vienna will be for three nights in January, but none of them will be spent at this hotel. I’m tired of the hassle. It’s not worth it. I’ll be staying with a competitor. The credit is issued on a per-day basis and cannot be combined or carried over to another day. We understand that this may feel restrictive, especially when departing early, but this guideline is part of the brand-wide standard and not determined at the property level.2) Minimarkt / WundermartOur Minimarkt is fully operated by Wundermart, an independent third-party company. The hotel does not manage, supervise, or process any transactions there, and our staff are not involved in the operation of the Minimarkt in any way. As a result, we cannot apply the F&B credit to purchases made there, as the systems are completely separate. 3) Breakfast ExperienceWe are very sorry for the inconsistency you experienced when trying to order a small à-la-carte selection. While our breakfast is offered exclusively as a buffet, our team should communicate this clearly and consistently. Your comments have been shared with our F&B management for immediate improvement.4) InvoiceWe apologize for the inconvenience you encountered when requesting your invoice. This process should be straightforward, and we will address this with our front-office team.5) Marriott Bonvoy PointsPlease note that points are credited only after the stay has been completed. It typically takes 2–3 working days for all points—including those for opting out of housekeeping—to appear in your account.   Convenient for the U bahn into the centre, pleasant, comfortable room, friendly staff. Breakfast seemed rather expensive at 30 Euros each so we had coffee and croissants at the bakery 2 minutes away.
