    Enjoyable - would stay again

    rating17 May 2026

Finding reasonably priced accommodation in Vienna during Eurovision week felt almost impossible — which made the Hilton Vienna Waterfront points redemption feel like a genuine win.Connectivity to the airport via an Uber is reasonably priced and convenient. It’s location could be considered a good walk in and out of Vienna centre - but it can be a nice walk. There is also the U2 metro line that runs close by and is well signposted. The Lounge - it was nice, but not spectacular - useful if you are Gold/Diamond. The lounge drinks offering was surprisingly solid, with decent local beers, wine and even sparkling wine. The food wasn’t great though. I’m not sure whether it was my palate for the local food, or whether it was poor local food. I’ll leave that for my continental friends to make a more informed judgement on.The breakfast - was much too crowded. I assume the hotel was full, meaning it was difficult to find a seat for the last 2 hours of 06:30 to 10:30 breakfast period. I think this may have been caused by inclement weather - that meant that no one was sitting outside, and in fact - we ended up in the bar area. There was a good choice of options at breakfast time - though I have seen better at other Hiltons. The room - we found it quite warm in early May and had to resort to sleeping with the window open. With our high floor with a river view - this was fine as there wasn’t a lot of noise from the river. Rooms are larger and roomy - as rooms should be.It has a proper outdoor pool area, which was too cold for us - but probably pretty good in summer.Overall, the Hilton Vienna Waterfront is best suited to travellers who value space, Hilton status benefits and a quieter base over immediate access to Vienna’s historic centre. During busy events like Eurovision, it also represents one of the better-value Hilton redemptions in the city.

    Nice staff, nice breakfast.

My child (age 18+) stayed here on her own. She liked the breakfast and said the hotel was nice. A couple days before arrival staff, Alexandra sent an email and it helped to set up my child for a pleasant stay.

This is an old, outdated hotel, with multiple problems. Avoid it

    rating07 May 2026

This is an old hotel, built in the 1980s, with many serious problems. We stayed there from April 30-May 3rd, and the heating/cooling system was completely broken. Both the front desk and the repairman admitted that there was no way to change the temperature in the room..so the room was simply the same temperature as outdoors. As the weather changed on those days, some nights were too cold, others too hot.Another issue is the swimming pool..the hotel building blocks sunlight from the pool in the afternoon...therefore after 1pm the pool is completely in the shade, plus unheated. Breakfast was decent, but the breakfast staff seems really unhappy working there. The bathroom is also of poor quality..there is no ventilation system inside. It's also easy to hear people in the hallways/next door, difficult to sleep well. As a Diamond member, we got upgraded to an Executive room (712), but the executive lounge happy hour food was of low quality. The sauna was also strange..there is no attendant/worker there, just a bunch of completely naked men walking around without even a towel. This can be uncomfortable, and even dangerous if you go there as a girl (my girlfriend did not like it). Finally, the hotel billing system is dysfunctional. I specifically told them to charge a different credit card, than the one pre-authorized at check-in. The said they would, yet completely ignored my request. And good luck reaching them by phone..the system always seem to be down.I've stayed in over 100 hotels so far in my travel career, and I would highly recommend you choose a different place.

    Worth its name

Objectively, the hotel merits 5/5, but its location and traffic connection is not really what you want. Other than tah: great service, great breakfast, everything very well done.

    Poor check in service

    rating02 Apr 2026

Not a good start, having got here just before lunch we were told to come back at 15:00hrs, did so room not ready, told to come back in 30 minutes, still room not ready, call back at 15:40, reception made a call and told to come back in 30 minutes now 16:25hrs and room still not ready, too quick to take my money for breakfast for the four mornings at 264 euros, come on Hilton you can do better please Hilton Vienna Waterfront, Guest Services / Front Office at Hilton Vienna Waterfront, responded to this review Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience and frustration caused by the delay in having your room ready. This is certainly not the start to a stay that we aim to provide, and I fully understand your disappointment. Please feel free to come by the front desk at your convenience. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to speak with you personally and hopefully make things right.Thank you for your patience, and we hope we can still turn this experience into a more positive one. Kind regards,Hilton Vienna Waterfront Team
