    Old hotel good location

    rating07 Jun 2025

The location was not bad with 6-7 min walk to trams. No restaurants nearby so had to walk a few mins. Its on a quiet road but safe to walk at nights. No water provided so had to get our own. The bed was cramped with very thin pillows. When we requested extra pillow they didn't have any and provided a very tiny pillow. Its about 15 to 20 min from Stefanplatz by tram.

    Nice hotel

    rating15 Dec 2024

Very pleasant hotel. Nice staff, very helpful. Room was very clean. Shower perfect. Hairdryer in bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was excellent . Would stay here again if I returned to Vienna. We used Bolt taxi app to travel around and they were a god price and very reliable. I would like to return when the city was quieter and explore a bit more. The markets are great but be prepared for large crowds and bust restaurants. My advice would be to book in advance .

    Grim!!!!

Just don't stay here, honestly, you'll thank me!! Whole place smelt musty, air con was outdated and noisy (but so hot out couldn't keep it off). Had to argue of the parking I paid for with both staff on check in and when leaving. The rooms haven't been touched since the 70s from the feel of the beds and furniture. It's only saving grace was that the bedding was clean as were the towels.

    Never again!

I normally don't write reviews unless I receive unexpected customer service or just plain terrible experiences. We had made several days with 5 different hotels to visit Christmas Markets throughout Europe, arriving in Zurich on Nov 30th, taking a beautiful train ride to Munich for 2 nights, leaving for Vienna on Dec 02, the region had a massive snowstorm move through dumping 15 inches of snow shutting down all transportation to/from Vienna. I called the hotel advising them of the situation, we would not make it to the hotel, please cancel our stay, no problem they said. We had 3 other hotels that were booked and processed the same way, each morning we went to the Munich train station which we learned the train was canceled again...no problem we tried again the next day, called that hotel, they canceled our reservation with no charges and/or penalties. However, Hotel Boltzmann didn't cancel our reservation and charged (Stole) $320 for not showing up...even though I called the morning of. I realize we did purchase non-refundable bookings; however, all the other hotels understood the situation, most snow in 50 years overnight, shutting down all transportations and canceled with no charges. The trains even refunded our fares, the airlines allowed us to change our return departure city with NO extra fees and/or fare. It's despicable to me for a hotel to handle the situation in this manner. The hotels in Munich (Ibis) were amazing, provided a 10% discount since we were stranded. I am in the travel industry and will not ever recommend this hotel to anyone.

    Great stay!

    rating13 Sept 2023

I was sceptical about staying here because of the previous reviews and I actually don’t think they do this hotel justice at all.I was staying on floor 4, there is a bit of of a funny smell to the hotel, and the rooms are a bit out of date but that was not really a put off factor for me. The pillows are non existent so I did have to ask for more which was delivered to my room. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms show wear and tear but the shower was great!! Very powerful. The breakfast was better than I thought it would be with plenty to choose from. Th staff went out of their way for anything I needed. The only other thing I would say is that there is complimentary tea and coffee in your room but no milk for the tea.Overall my stay was fine and if I returned to Vienna, I would definitely stay her again.
