  Good hotel overall. Not the most central location, but well connected, so getting around was never an issue. Breakfast was excellent, probably the best part of the stay. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. We also appreciated having water and drinks available in the lobby throughout the day, a small but thoughtful touch.The only downside was the sauna opening hours. From 2 to 8 PM is unfortunately exactly the time you spend out visiting the city, so we never got the chance to use it. A later evening slot would work so much better for guests.

  Viennese imperialism mixed with modern

  Self check-in, in tiny lobby with water, coffee and tea station. Many stairs up to the lobby level where the elevator is, two more stairs after exiting the elevator.Booked a superior room with balcony and garden view. Only four rooms on level 4. Room 10 is beautiful, bright and big. The ceiling is high and has an impression of Viennese imperialism mixed with modern, and is well furnished. There are seven six-foot high French door type windows along the back wall with a view to trees and a garden.The bathroom is large with a large tub/shower, sink and bidet, and a separate toilet room. There is a hall area with closet before entering the room itself.Wifi works well. The room has a mini fridge and kettle. It is very quiet with no street noise at all and a little bit from the outer hallway.The breakfast buffet is small but good with many regional products. The bread selection is exceptional.Daily housekeeping.No parking at the hotel or on the street.The breakfast buffet area is small and when three people stand in it there is no room for others. Amongst the tables are two large pillars which make it difficult to navigate back and forth with others. I wouldn’t want to be here with a full house!The scrambled eggs are microwaved!! Awful.There were significant errors on the self checkout generated bill and no one at the lobby desk to talk to. Puts 100% onus on the customer to rectify the situation; time consuming and annoying. I much prefer staff in reception. While we offer self-checkout as a time-saving option, we're certainly here when you need us - please don't hesitate to reach out if anything needs clarification.Regarding the eggs: they're actually freshly steam-prepared individually on order from pure organic eggs (no microwave involved!), which gives them a different texture than pan-fried eggs. We understand this preparation style isn't for everyone's taste.   Couples long Xmas weekend

  On arrival a bit disappointed - carpet on steps looks shabby and internal doors did not shut properly. No one on reception when we arrived and had to use phone to ask where to leave luggage! Staff are helpful and breakfast all organic, although not a lot of food available as hot option! Not great for full cooked breakfast lovers. Beds were really comfortable and pillows lovely - rooms tired but kept clean and lots of towels. Just what you need after all the walking. Hotel is really well situated- underground just outside hotel and really easy to use and cheap. Make sure you buy 48 hour or 72 hour pass as much cheaper. For main Xmas market use u3 line and get off at Volkstheater station only a quick walk and you will be there. We did the lights at votive church- amazing! Don’t bother with boat ride Danube - dreadful just looking at industrial buildings and car show rooms - waste of money. If you want to try cakes at cafe central - it’s worth the wait - took us hour to get in but fab Loved Vienna it’s beautiful 🤩

  Perfectly placed small hotel

  Hotel Spiess and Speiss is perfectly located right next to a U Bahn station. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Staff are lovely but not over bearing, it feels more like your own private apartment. Breakfast was delicious, the bread was especially wonderful. Very quiet location and couldn't hear any noise from other rooms, in fact we only ever saw other guests at breakfast.

  Excellent option for Vienna stay

  My wife and I stayed here for three nights while visiting Vienna. The location about 100 meters from the Rochusgasse metro stop allowed us to get anywhere in Vienna quickly. Very quiet neighbourhood so no issues with sleeping. There is a small lobby with coffee/tea/water available 24/7. The breakfast was outstanding. Home made pastries, lots of choice, and excellent coffee. Vienna can be very expensive to stay within "the ring" and we thought this was an excellent value option close to the subway. Would highly recommend a stay.
