  Great location for transport, good for city

  For train travellers this is a great location - a couple of minutes walk from Wien Hauptbahnhof (Hbf.) and also from the city's metro system. The city centre is about 20-30 minutes on foot if you prefer. The Ibis and Novotel Hotels are intertwined (I ended up in the 'wrong' breakfast room on my first morning) but the cheaper Ibis is fine: Rooms generous by Ibis standards; the €18 buffet breakfast almost justified its price in terms of variety. Good mix of cheese, cold meat. eggs, frankfurters, yoghurt etc., even some miso soup and rice with all sorts of Japanese pickles and condiments. Soggy bacon my only niggle. Good selection of drinks and more 24 hours at reception (and at busy times the station itself offers all sorts of eateries and a basement supermarket if you're hungry). Friendly staff throughout. There are better accommodation options in Vienna if you're arriving by plane or car but for train travellers it's perfect: I'll be back !   Excellent breakfast but one member of staff was rude.

  Let's start with the positive. I liked the room, it was clean, spacious, I had everything I needed, it was peaceful (no noise) and I slept well. The breakfast was really excellent with an amazing range of international options, I usually don't eat much at breakfast but this time I found myself looking forward to the breakfast. There is also free tea and coffee available in the lobby. The location is convenient for the main train station and there are plenty of supermarkets, shops, fast food options and restaurants in the area. Now here's the problem: it was completely random just how good your service was when it came to the staff. I had a slightly complicated situation whereby my company booked this hotel for me as it was a work trip, there were some issues with the booking during the check in and I had to call my boss whilst checking in - the woman at the front desk sighed, look at me as if I had just ruined her day and she was evidently upset that it was just a simple, straightforward check in. As it was a work trip, my company was supposed to pay for my room, I wasn't supposed to pay for it and this simple arrangement confused the lady at the front desk. My boss then said to me on the phone, please pass the phone over to the lady at the front desk and I will explain it to her - when she took the phone from me, she was frowning and looked visibly angry with me. She then started jabbering away in German with my Austrian boss and suddenly, everything was sorted. There was no concept of customer service, only a sense of "how dare you make me do more than the bare minimum to check you in, this job is supposed to be simple - you're giving me trouble." She had a terrible attitude. Perhaps it is a cultural thing but gosh, this woman was downright rude and unhelpful. She is an exception though - I have interacted with other members of staff as well during my stay there and they were normal, ie. they were always happy to help in any way they could without giving me any attitude. So it seems that it is a complete lottery, whether you get a staff member who is friendly and helpful or a sulky one who is downright rude and unwilling to help.   Budget amendments at Budget price. Staff not friendly and not helpful. They continuely ran out of coffee mugs at reception and there was no attempt to wash and replace for 2 days. Rooms were adequate. Our team always does its best to refill them quickly; however, some guests like to take mugs to their rooms without returning them, which can temporarily reduce availability.   Convenient hotel that’s good value for money

  Nice clean hotel that is next to the main railway station. There are also several tram lines close by. Very easy to get around Vienna. The area felt safe and clean. There’s a supermarket and a few restaurants nearby. The hotel had a nice breakfast buffet and had chilled water and beer on tap at reception.   Excellent location. A wonderful hotel with good facilities though a little disappointing that tea and coffee making facilities were not available in the rooms but in the lobby instead. The room was very clean with attractive decor. Would definitely recommend.
