This luxury hotel is ideally located directly opposite the city park and within walking distance of the main business and shopping district, as well as the historical city centre where guests will discover St. Stephen's Cathedral, the State Opera and the Imperial Palace. 'Stadtpark' underground station on the U4 line is located opposite the hotel. The City Airport Train (CAT) is just one station away from the hotel by the underground, and Vienna Airport can be reached in 15 minutes.

Facility

458 rooms, including 14 junior suites, 48 suites, 19 studios, 138 single rooms and 157 double rooms, are located on 12 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services such as a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand and a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service (for a fee), a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Cyclists can make use of the bicycle storage area and hire service (for a fee). Complimentary newspapers are available. A business centre with fax machine and projector is available.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a TV, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. As an extra convenience, bathrooms provide cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has non-smoking rooms.

Sport

A sun terrace is a great place to while away the hours. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. Those who wish to stay active while on holiday can enjoy tennis and golf. For a fee, cycling/mountain biking is also available. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym, callisthenics and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon and a solarium. Subject to charge: massage treatments.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a café and a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. A generous breakfast buffet and a dinner à la carte are served every day. Diet meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    Excellent recommended stay

    We were very happy with our recent stay at the intercontinental Vienna. The location is excellent & we were able to use public transit to access the airport (relatively) quickly and seamlessly. The hotel is by the subway line, a 8 minute walk from Wien Mitte train station, and across the street from the Stadt Park. The cathedral is a 10 minute walk away so the location is perfect for tourists. As IHG Ambassadors we were upgraded to a deluxe room, but then later when there were key issues we were switched to a one bedroom suite. Both rooms were absolutely lovely, but I particularly appreciated the great view of the ice rink etc & the very large bathroom in the suite. Staff were uniformly helpful and very pleasant. A special shout out to Pauline, the duty manager; Philipp, the concierge; Laptawan at reception; Inara and Laptii. I don’t usually mention individual staff in my reviews but they were all really excellent. Their dinner recommendations were also great; I’d recommend-as they did!- Gmoakeller which is a 5 minute walk away. Breakfast was very good, I especially enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice and sparkling wine, however after 5 days with no variation I wished it could have been changed up a bit on different days. I’d definitely stay here again!!     My wife Cecilia and I celebrated a special occasion at the Intercontinental Vienna and loved every minute of our two night stay. The impeccable customer service began before we even set foot on the property, as a guest services manager reached out to Cecilia a week before our check-in date to see if we had any special requests and to provide an advance welcome. That level of proactive guest services was a good sign of how memorable our stay was going to be. We received a Royal Ambassador upgrade to an extremely spacious one bedroom suite which was bedecked with rose petals and a generous welcome amenity. The Club Lounge at this property was also first rate - special thank you to each of the lounge attendants who were so welcoming and greeted us by name each time we entered the lounge. The dining options outside of the lounge were also first rate, especially the breakfast buffet. I greatly enjoyed freshly squeezed juice each morning from the self serve juicer (first time I’ve ever seen that at a breakfast buffet). The hotel is also in an ideal location, right across the street from the metro station and within walking distance of museums, concert halls and the central shopping district.
