  Best hotel in Vienna - quiet street, supermarket onsite, next to bike path

  We changed rooms as soon as we arrived, having seen the sparse room we were allocated! For a very small upgrade fee, we moved to a ‘suite’ with a kitchenette, fridge, kettle, sink, a living area, great bathroom with a bath, and a large balcony. It was definitely great value! The bed was extremely comfortable, and the water really hot for relaxing showers and baths after long days of sight seeing in the city.While the interiors of the room were a little dated, they were spacious and homely, allowing us to spread out and decompress during our 3 nights there. The balcony (which did have a couple of weeds and a couple of cigarette butts when we first used it) was a terrific spot to sit at the end of each day with a beer, listening to the local birds and church bells chiming. It was a simply spectacular place to wind down each evening. Plenty of sunshine on the balcony allowed us to dry our laundry fully, which we did at a nearby laundromat as the hotel’s guest laundry facilities are no longer available.Downstairs is the breakfast room, and although we self-catered, they were very kind to us in giving us some milk and supplies to keep us going until we got to the supermarket when we first arrived (it was late Saturday night we knew that on Sunday all the shops would be closed). The lady at reception also made us a hot chocolate from their coffee machine later in the day!Philip, who welcomed us was super friendly, and interested in us. A couple of the local knowledge things that he told us weren’t quite right (e.g. that there was no bakery that operates on Sundays - we did find one but it was about 1km away), but we knew that it was from his heart and he didn’t mean to make a mistake. The price he gave us for the room upgrade was well and truly worth the money.The hotel suburb and street was super quiet and peaceful. Public transport of all sorts if nearby (U-bahn is probably your best bet). The toilet in the room is separate from the bathroom, which is super functional, but it would be better with a hand basin in the toilet room.For some reason (probably the skylights?) the hallways got very warm, so we had to open the windows all night to keep our room cool. the television only had local channels (awesome for practising our German) so there was only about 3 English channels but that’s a first world problem. Also, there’s no ability to stream to the TV, nor does the TV have internet access, but again, all the more German :) :)All in all, we absolutely loved this hotel!P.S. If you’re an avgeek and have Flight Radar 24, you will ADORE how many heavies go overhead on a clear day. A380s everywhere!

  I stayed in Vienna for 3 days. I expected more from this hotel. The staff was very cold and unfriendly. The rooms were spacious enough, althought furnished with old furniture. The food was acceptable. The locations is good, with quick acces to public transport,

  Don’t ever stay here. The street is cleaner. I was placed here as part of an Expat tour. The shower was moldy, bugs in the room, feces smear on the bed, heavily marked walls, and to top it off no hot water,I asked for a new room and was told by the front desk “there’s no point, they’re all like that.” After talking to other people on the tour, it turns out she was right. They all are that bad.Don’t stay here. If Expat tries to warehouse you here, outright refuse. It’s disgusting. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

  Dirty. Disgusting. Uncomfortable.

  Room was filthy. Marked walls with snot. Shower has mouldy curtain and grout. Bathroom has water damage. Carpet stains. Pet fur. No cups/glasses. Outside was just as bad. Rubbish everywhere and no maintenance on gardens. Breakfast was terrible and staff were rudeBroken shower head

  The worst experience ever

  The room we stay is a twin bed bedroom because they don’t have double-bed rooms at all. staff are rude and not friendly at all Hygiene is too poor floors are all dirty with big stains on it. Bathroom and toilet are old and not clean. Room smells.there is No refrigerator in the room they gave us. We can call it an old inn.
