    Great Base for Exploring Vienna

    rating17 Jan 2026

We have mixed feelings about this hotel where we stayed for 10 days. On the one hand the location is fantastic! Right outside an underground station and within easy walking distance to so many of the major sites in Vienna. Our room was more like a small apartment – very spacious with big windows and plenty of room. We loved having kitchen facilities, although they were pretty limited, but enough to make a simple meal. The staff were very helpful – thank you in particular to David and Luke on the front desk. They were both wonderful and Luke helped a lot when we had to call our Australian bank.On the downside, the décor is a little tired and they had problems with housekeeping while we were there. Most days we hung the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door as the room didn’t really need cleaning, but when we took it off for one day, the room was not vacuumed and the rubbish bins were not emptied, plus they only left us one towel for two people.Overall I would recommend this hotel for its superb location. Many of the main sites in Vienna are in easy walking distance but we had limited mobility on this trip so it was super handy being right outside the stairs down to the underground railway station. If it weren’t for the rather tired décor and the gaps in housekeeping, it would be five stars from us.

    Great place to stay.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had in Vienna. Spacious, generous, very comfy and excellent breakfast. The water and coffee are available at will 24hr at the lobby. The rooms as well as the lobby are well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast staff are genuinely helpful and smiling. Very positive experience. Apartment Living 5 mins from Vienna Opera House.

    rating08 Jun 2025

Spent 4 very comfortable nights in a 2 Bedroom Executive Apartment. One Bedroom overlooked a Courtyard and the other Bed was off to the side , in the Lounge-room which faced Elizbethstrasse Street.Very quiet with windows closed.Windows could be opened for fresh air.We paid for Breakfast which was a nice mix of Hot and Cold. Very good coffees and FANTASTIC Flaky Mini Croissants!Only used the Kitchenette to make Cups of Tea and to store Snacks and Drinks in the Refrigerator.Staff helpful and the location is amazing. 5 mins walk to Opera House. Minimally functional 2 star hotel

    rating11 May 2025

This is a minimally functional, 2 star hotel, with a fancy lobby, and deceptive photos to fool one into thinking it is better than it is. Once past the lobby, the hotel seems to be a maze of connected buildings. While our room was very large, the decor is right out of what looks like the 1970s, with minimal. Terrible bed, low to the ground and lumpy. The duvets were too short; you either had cold toes or cold neck. Of course, no top sheet provided unless you asked for it, as is the trend with European hotels. Minimal toiletries, just shampoo and shower gel. They didn't even have hair conditioner in the hotel. No laundry service, unless you want to wash your own laundry using pay machines down in the dungeon. The wooden parquet floors while at one time were probably nice, were absolutely filthy. They probably haven't been clean since the 1970s either. Tons of dirt spots all over them, which could have been removed with a mop. It shows that clearly you don't clean the place. So you wonder when was the last time the carpets were cleaned. Only two bed pillows provided for the whole room so when we tried to call reception to ask for more, we found out the phone doesn't work. At least the walk in shower had a full door which was great since so many European bathroom hotels have now switched to that tiny piece of glass.... and so you stand there freezing whenever you take a shower. Unfortunately since everything was old the sealant between the glass and the floor was coming loose and water would leak out the bottom of the shower all over the bathroom floor. The only good thing about this hotel is this location right at Karlsplatz, and the intersection of three subway lines. However, I would not recommend staying at this place at this place unless you're desperate.
