    Not Family-Friendly, Not Reliable!

    rating03 Sept 2025

We stayed at Klosterneuburg campsite in Vienna for one night with our motorhome from 31 of August till 1 of September. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.Upon arrival, we noticed that our name was missing from the pitch list. Unfortunately, it was Sunday evening and the reception was already closed, so there was no support or guidance available. By chance, we met another guest at the entrance who kindly gave us his reservation for one night, and we stayed on his pitch. The next morning, after explaining the situation to the campsite receptionist and showing our booking confirmation, it turned out that a mistake had been made in the reservation: instead of one night, two nights were entered, and the arrival date was also incorrect. Nevertheless, we were obliged to pay the full price of €61 for one night, including electricity and showers, even though the service and assistance we expected were not provided. The receptionist even charged us twice for the same pitch without issuing a cancellation, which caused us frustration. The pitches themselves are very small and not comfortable for a family with children and a motorhome. Next to the campsite there was a playground, but it did not belong to the campsite. Overall, the management did not take responsibility for their mistake and shifted everything onto us, leaving us without proper information or help!!In our view, this shows a lack of customer orientation and flexibility. For families and international travelers, this campsite is not a reliable choice!

    Pleasant campsite

    rating25 May 2025

Lovely campsite in suburb of Vienna. Large pitch, clean showers, helpful reception, if a bit dour. 10 minute walk to Danube where there are a few bars/restaurants, 5 minute stroll into pleasant small town, nice well priced campsite restaurant. Train station literally 5min walk for train into Vienna which is lovely. All dog friendly and would visit again if in the area.

    Green and leafy.

    rating28 Apr 2025

Pleasant, green and leafy campsite. Much more efficient reception than usual here. Decent sized pitches and fair price with an ACSI card. 27 Euros including EGU. Quick and easy access to City centre via train station then U-Bahn less than 10 mins walk away. Tickets from auto dispenser inside the building on each platform. Follow the instructions on the paperwork supplied at campsite check-in. On-site restaurant pleasant, but limited choice as the evening profresses.

    Nice place for visiting Vienna.

Medium to large campsites. I found this camping to be a bit more commercial but still nice. The camping has mostly spots for campers and caravans with a singel field for tents. There aren’t any defined spots for your tent and you just have to pick a suitable location on the field. This does mean that privacy is limited and also depends on your fellow campers to not setup there tent to close to you. Also pay attention to where the sun comes from, about half the field has permanent shade and the other half not. There are 2 sanitation buildings for which you need to have a keycard to get in. You need to pay 10€ cash deposit for each key. Do keep in mind that you also need the key for the toilets. I found the showers to be relatively clean but it could do with a proper deep clean from time to time, definitely a keep you slippers on situation. One thing that greatly annoyed me were the showers. They use a motion sensor for the showers which requires movement to keep the showers going this resulted in the showers shutting off all the time which I found really annoying. There is a small shop on site for basic stuff and there is a supermarket and bakery in walking distance. The locations is quite with only an occasional train passing by. There is a swing pool / waterpark next door which is not part of the camping but I believe you could access with a discount (did not try this but it was mentioned). There is a train station again at walking distance where trains leave for the city center. However if you have a car I would recommend parking it at Unizentrum Althanstraße Parkhaus and taking the U-bahn to the center. Parking is only 6,90€ for the day and with the U-bahn you can reach every part of the historic city within minutes. Although the camping is called Donaupark it is not located next to the river and there isn’t really an obvious way to view the river. The camping is on the edges of the city and takes a bit of a journey to get to. I traveled from the A1 autobahn and had to take a twisty and steep back country route over one of the hills to get there. This was not a problem for me with just a car (it is even pretty fun if you ask me) but if you are towing or have a heavy vehicle keep this in mind or take a different route. The restaurant is good and mainly serves Austrian food. The restaurant appears to be staffed by just 2 people so if it is packed the wait could be a bit long. The food was fresh and delicious for a decent price. Al the staff were very friendly and accommodating even though they didn’t al speak English very well. When I arrived the camping was fully booked so I only had the option to have a tent only spot and had to park my car +-100m away. My advice if you have a car or camper/caravan is to make a reservation. Even at the tent section there was 230v power available for a small charge. Keep in mind that you need an Cee plug and not a regular EU plug. Overal I would recommend this campsite if you mainly want to visit the city or are traveling through. A tent spot is 25,50€ for 1 person with electricity.

Excellent choice for a visit to Vienna

    rating08 Jul 2023

Lovely, well maintained campsite with restaurant onsite and a small supermarket for the basics. The amenities are modern and spotlessly clean at all times. Pitches are a good size and most offer some shade. The staff at reception provide the information you need to visit Vienna, and the station is a very short walk from the site. It is an excellent location to access the city, but the town where the site is located, also has a lot of history so make sure you allocate some time to visit the beautiful medieval church and abbey. Can definitely recommend this camping site for a visit to the beautiful city of Vienna. We really enjoyed our stay. The only reason it hasn’t received 5 stars is because it doesn’t offer a pool or those extras that push a park into that next level.
