    This hotel is amazing! If you are looking for an old European boutique hotel with modern conveniences this is your place! Gorgeous rooms with old Europe design and furnishings. Comfortable beds and everything you need-coffee maker, hair dryer, etc. The location is ideal for seeing many major sites with great dining choices within a 5-15 minute walk. Best of all, every staff member is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend making Schlosshotel Romischer Kaiser your choice for your next stay in Vienna!

    Prime Location with Minor Shortcomings

    The hotel has a perfect location for exploring the city center on foot and is situated in a beautiful old building on a quiet, non-traffic street. There is a rear entrance that can be accessed by car.The hotel and its furnishings are somewhat dated and have an 1980s feel. The rooms are not very large, but the price-performance ratio is quite reasonable. Cleanliness was beyond reproach.Unfortunately, the service upon arrival was not very good, as no assistance with luggage was offered. Otherwise, however, the service was friendly. Breakfast was decent, although the space was somewhat cramped.Overall, I would place the hotel more in the upper three-star category rather than a four-star level.

    A very nice hotel in an ideal location, the reception staff were very helpful. A good breakfast every morning. The treats in reception were a nice extra.

    ❌ Very disappointing experience – rude staff, discrimination, and emotional harmFrom the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with rudeness and zero professionalism. Instead of a warm welcome, we were met with an unwelcoming and uncomfortable attitude.What made it worse was the discrimination against our service dog. Even after we clearly explained that it was a certified service animal, they refused entry with a complete lack of empathy or understanding. This wasn’t about bringing a pet – it was about the legal right to be accompanied by a trained service dog.This behavior is not only unacceptable – it’s against the law. Their ignorance and disrespect toward guests with disabilities was shocking.We have already reported this incident to the Austrian Ombudsman for Disability and the Equal Treatment Commission (Gleichbehandlungsanwaltschaft), both of which investigate discrimination and promote inclusive practices in Austria.⚠️ Beyond the legal issue, the traumatizing experience and emotional distress caused by this situation severely impacted our trip. What should have been a peaceful and enjoyable moment turned into stress, exclusion, and harm to our wellbeing.Customer service was terrible and the overall atmosphere did not match the rating or expectations.👎 I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who values respect, inclusion, or proper hospitality.

    We had a very nice long weekend at this hotel (Room 36). The room had good facilities, a fridge, a kettle and coffee machine etc. Although next to the lift, the room was not troubled by noise, gaving double doors. The bed was comfortable and room spacious enough with table and chairs. The reception and breakfast staff were very helpful and efficient. The breakfast lounge was delightful. The location is perfect for walking around the old town.
