    Great location on a main tram route close to shops. Quiet, clean and enjoyable room. Highly recommend for a stay in Vienna

    I stayed two nights and one day at the Senator Vienna Hotel in December 2024. The location is not central, and there is no metro station nearby, but there is a Straßenbahn (tram) that stops right in front of the hotel, making it easy to get around the city.The double room and bathroom are small but adequate for a short stay. On the downside, the carpeted floor and the strange smell in the room, likely due to the carpet (were not pleasant). The room’s heavy red decor was also not to my taste.On the positive side, breakfast was excellent : varied, plentiful, and very satisfying. The hotel staff was always friendly and helpful. There is also a small bar for guests to enjoy in the evening. Overall, it’s a good choice for a short stay if you don’t mind being a bit away from the city center.

    Stayed May 2024. Very tired hotel. Room had a faint smell. Reported to front desk with no resolution. Front desk was very helpful with my questions about local public transit.

    DO NOT STAY HERE. Here for 4 hours and compelled to write this review. The room is spacious, but this is where the positives end. If I could give it negative I would. Very old and disgusting stains all over the rug, furniture, and walls, and very musty; i’m not sure it has been cleaned in quite some time. some of the windows do not open all the way. Just the top few inches crack open, but no use anyway, unless you want to smell cigarette smoke coming in off the street right outside of the hotel. No circulation and room is boiling hot. Aircon not working. People smoking in the hallway, even though no smoking signs are up. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was not edible and someone in our group found a bug crawling on him at the dinner table. Another person found a half eaten chip on the floor and a used coffee mug left on the table. But the worst thing about it is that the front desk staff is very rude. They were busy doing something, discussing something with each other, and they asked us to wait for a few minutes. That’s no problem. 15 minutes, went by and she asked me to wait for another few minutes. 30 minutes went by and I went back up to ask her if she could maybe… and before I could finish my sentence, she finished it for me and said “maybe you can wait”. She said she was changing shifts and I said I understand, but you told me that 30 minutes ago. She said you need to wait. At which point the other person, yes, there were two people at the front desk, not helping anyone, said that he would help me when he was done. Done with what? Talking to your co-worker?! Do not waste your money. I’ve stayed at other hotels in the city and they’re lovely and the people here are lovely. For some reason this hotel is not.
