  Not-so-great place

  During a recent trip with a friend, there was no hot water from the evening of June 8 through the morning of June 9. And water was streaming dangerously through the electric light fixture in the elevator after thunderstorms. The stairway and lobby were very shabby. Room was clean and air conditioned.

  We booked a room with seperate beds but got one double. Because of the self check in we had to contact a phone number. Very rude guy who didn't want to help us and hang up the phone several times! No solution for the night. Everything in the hotel looks very outdated. Big mistake to book here.

  First, the owner sent me instructions on german. I messaged him and he never replied back. I had to find someone to translate that for me. The room was too stuffed. It felt no air inside. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. But you get what you are paying for. The location was good. One night was enough.

  The location is good, in Innerstäd. However, the building is dark and old. The room was refurbished and in good condition.The room temperature is limited to 20º Celsius (external until -2ºC). I use used a thermometer to check.The water is the biggest problem. During the stay, the warm water was not good, with a lack of warm water for 2 days (including on the checkout day).The room has no refrigerator, microwave, or electric jar, which is a problem, especially for families.I booked 6 nights but didn't recommend it due to the limited facilities.

  Once there was a nice place which now belongs to a new owner.

  During my stays in Vienna, I always chose Pension Residenz due to its central location and the good access to the public transport. Although located in the first district, it is a quite place. WiFi in the room is excellent. The room itself are always spacious, clean and comfortable.Recently, the owner of Pension Residenz has changed. During my earlier four stays in 2020 and 2021, I always could count on the nice and helpful reception staff and a decent breakfast. I also enjoyed the small talks in the morning. This time, though, it turned out that the hotel has a self-service, does not offer breakfast and is available only at given times. The worst thing, however, relates to the invoice which I still have not received. The staff did not respond on my questions sent via Booking and promised an invoice only after my phone call. My stay in Vienna was a business trip and if I don't receive an invoice with the data of my employer, I will get very angry with it. Such a problem never existed when the earlier staff ran Pension Residenz.
