Great location, urgent renovations and refurbishment needed

I try to be fair and balanced....I have stayed in many hotels and this has been the worst for a very long time. The only thing redeeming it a 1 star is the lovely smiling face of Aida at breakfast! We arrived to the wrong room types being offered, to be told the twin room could be changed but not until the next day. They had been pre informed of our room bed request as doubles! The gentleman on reception eventually found a 'upgrade' room for us that he swapped us into but it took a long discussion! The room itself was huge and in dire need of renovation and upgrade! Stained carpets, finger prints on all switches & doors, broken furniture, bed half made, toilet flush half missing...I could go on! We decided to make the best of a bad situation as our brothers room was equally as run down so we felt moving rooms would just bring more dissatisfactions! Breakfast was interesting in a room with random stacks of mattresses 'hidden' behind a partial screen and rows of unused chairs! Aida was a cheery face and very sweet so no complaints about the staff there! The food itself was dull, limited and I definitely didn't feel like requesting gluten free bread was any kind of option! I had to call down to reception twice in our stay - for an iron - I was told I couldn't have one until 8am when housekeeping arrived! My brother went down to reception and we did eventually get one....it was in a very poor condition! The second call was due to no towels being left in our room on day 2 - again after being questioned about my ability to look I was reluctantly granted a towel! When we ran out of toilet paper I didn't bother reception I just went to the nearest public restroom in the hotel and borrowed a roll from there!The hotel is however in a fantastic location for walking the city so it does definitely have some redeeming qualities! In its day I'm sure this was a stunning hotel, sadly now it is not and requires a complete refurbishment.

The hotel is very neglected; the bathrooms require maintenance. The breakfast is very poor, and the staff does what they can. I strongly advise against this hotel.L'hotel è molto trascurato; i bagni in camera richiedono manuntenzione. La colazione è molto scadente e il personale fa quello che può. Sconsiglio vivamente questo hotel.

I really like the way we were welcomed to the hotel.Everyone speaks English and Russian, so we had no problems with communication!The room was very clean and spacious!

The staff of the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. We were supported whenever we needed something and everybody acted very professional.We had a beautiful room and the breakfast was excellent

The hotel is located very close to the city center, the breakfast is delicious and the service is top notch.The waiters do their best to ensure every step is taken. We are very happy with our choice of hotel.The staff was the best!!! I will definitely come back because of their dedication!
