### Good location, but disappointing service

We stayed at Shah Palace Hotel from **8–12 September for 4 nights**. Unfortunately, **we would not recommend this hotel**.The location is good for exploring the Old City, and the restaurant food was good. However, the **staff behaviour was disappointing**. My wife has a leg problem, so we requested a room close to the elevator. Despite changing our room twice, both rooms were still far from the elevator. The girl at reception appeared irritated by our request instead of showing understanding.Breakfast was just okay, with **very limited choice and variety**. The charging points in the room were also **far from the bed**, which was inconvenient.The cobblestone streets around the hotel can be difficult to walk on, especially for anyone with mobility issues. Cars can reach the hotel, but they **cannot wait outside for more than about a minute**, making luggage handling inconvenient.Overall, the location and restaurant are positives, but the **poor staff attitude and lack of consideration** made our stay disappointing. **We would choose another hotel if visiting Baku again.**

Great Location, Spacious Room and Good Value for Money

The Shah Palace Hotel was a good choice overall. It is very well located, right near the main entrance to Baku’s Old City, which makes it very convenient for exploring the area.The room was spacious, and both the interior design and the furniture were of a high standard. The breakfast was also great, with a good variety of options to choose from. The staff provided good customer service and were very helpful, especially in making sure that my taxi could come directly to the front of the hotel to pick me up.There were, however, a couple of issues. The Wi-Fi did not work at all in my room (Room 203), which is something the hotel definitely needs to fix. There was also an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom.Despite these issues, I had a good stay overall. Considering the excellent location, room quality, breakfast, and service, the hotel offers good value for money.

We stayed 5 nights at the hotel during our visit to Bakü.It was very clean. Services were very good.Front desk personel was very friendly and helpful.Location is perfect, Most of the visiting/touristing points are within walking distance.

Don't miss staying in Shah Palace Hotel

Our family stayed at Shah Palace Hotel for 4 nights in March 2026. We will definitely stay there again because of its incredible location and the excellent restaurant on the 4th floor. We enjoyed 6 meals there because the food was outstanding.The building's main lobby is breathtaking and perfectly complements the hotel’s location right inside the walls of the Old City. You truly feel like part of history while staying there. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spotless, and we all loved the signature scent from the diffusers. Could you please share the name of this perfume? :)I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to experience local culture rather than staying in a soulless business hotel.

I stayed here for five days. The room was spacious and clean, and there was a lively atmosphere in the little square outside. All the staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast was very generous, and the view from the terrace is stunning.It was my first trip to Baku and staying in the old town was the perfect choice. I hope to visit it again soon, perhaps at a different time of year.
