Location

Located two miles from Grand Bahama International Airport, nextdoor to the International Bazaar, 1 mile from the centre and the hospital, and 5 miles from Port Lucaya Marketplace and Our Lucaya Resort. The resort is centrally located with restaurants, shopping, straw market, cinema and much more, all within walking distance.

Facility

21 suites, 10 single rooms and 87 double rooms are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Souvenirs can be purchased at the gift shop. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (no extra charge). Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a childcare service, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is included as standard in some rooms. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The resort has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The indoor and outdoor pools are ideal for exercise as well as relaxation. Sun loungers and parasols are available on the terrace, where guests can enjoy a quick break or relax for hours. The pool bar serves a selection of refreshing drinks. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the resort, including tennis, golf, a gym, darts and aerobics.

Meals

The resort includes a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. In addition to breakfast, the resort also offers lunch and dinner à la carte.

    An absolute dump

    We spent one night here, only because there was a glitch in our Airbnb reservation. This place is a dump. The staff were friendly but its a one star hotel. The towels must be 15 years old. The pool area is ok. The so called restaurant is nothing but a big partly empty room with Zero ambiance. We walked in for breakfast and turned around and went elsewhere. Take a look at my pictures.

    I knew I was picking up a low cost hotel room. Totally fine. The condition of the room and hotel is fine for the low cost. Why the 1star?? Because it’s ridiculous for them to allow the pool area to crank incredibly loud music all night while some of us actually need to sleep. If you need to sleep at your hotel? Skip Castaways. You will not sleep. And it is entirely because they apparently allow the pool to crank music at max volume for a few people, every night, all night. Really ridiculous. They need to decide if this is a hotel, or an all night low-attendance dance club.

    Salt water from the taps and shower. Shower one little stream. The whole building is falling apart, rooms are pathetic, ‘free internet’ non existing. No internet. ‘Restaurant’ and food don’t even try. The owner should be ashamed. Personnel is nice but seem extremely embarrassed about the state of the hotel. Really, it is pathetic and definitely amateur time. Third world primitive stuff. If the prices were accordingly I would not complain....well, I would actually.

    The reasonable price was a major factor in our selection of this 'resort'. The service good and staff friendly and accommodating. The hotel is a bit dated but clean. I will be staying whenever I visit Grand Bahama again. Breakfast was included which was also a deciding point.

    Nothing fancy here but the breakfast was good and served in a timely manner. Price was average for the area. But as a matter of convenience while staying at the hotel you really can’t complain. The lunch menu is also good. I can’t attest to dinner as I was usually working during that time frame.
