  We stayed at Ocean West in May, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. When writing reviews, I like to highlight both the pros and cons. Prior to our stay, I read several reviews and articles about the hotel and imagined it would be quite luxurious, so my expectations were quite high.I called for a shuttle to the airport, and it arrived promptly. The vehicle was an older SUV, which caught me off guard given my high expectations. The driver was friendly but a bit quiet. After he checked us into our room and handed us a garage door opener and key, I was surprised by how straightforward the check-in process was.As we made our way to our room, it felt more like we were in someone's home rather than a hotel, which wasn’t what I had anticipated. Once inside, I found everything to be somewhat dated, which puzzled me since I thought the hotel had been built in 2016. For a place just 10 years old, I expected it to feel more modern. One of my first observations was the absence of a coffee machine in the room. I spotted the cups stored in a cabinet, resting on some old paper towels that were meant for drying wet glasses, but they had a yellowish tint—definitely not the best first impression.We spent some time at the pool, and for dinner, we requested a shuttle to a local restaurant, which led us to a grocery store for some drinks and snacks to enjoy during our stay. The shuttle driver/Front desk person, Kaylee, was one of my favorite people of the trip; she was extremely helpful and picked us up without any issues.The next day, we relaxed by the pool again, and I found it to be my favorite area—very calm and soothing. The only downside was that we had to ask for towels multiple times while we were there. One morning, when I stepped into our room to use the restroom, I felt drips on my head, only to discover that the ceiling was leaking. I informed Kaylee, and she promptly took care of it. On our second night, we walked to a nearby restaurant that was a bit on the pricey side but very good. We didn’t receive housekeeping until the second day, but we were asked several times about it. I was surprised that my towels weren’t replaced, but on the last day, I discovered a sign stating they would only do that if the towels were left on the floor.On our final day, I requested a shuttle, and the response from the staff was different; they said there was no shuttle available, which was disappointing. However, they did call an excellent taxi driver named Paula, who was one of the best people we met aside from Kaylee. I highly recommend asking for her if you need a taxi.We decided to head downtown around 4 PM, but nobody mentioned that it closed at 5 PM, so we ended up spending $80 on taxi rides for very little time there. It would have been helpful if someone had warned us about the closing time. Once again, we asked for a shuttle to the airport on our last day, and the answer was still no, so they called Paula for us again. Overall, while the experience wasn't bad, it certainly didn’t rank as the best I’ve had. I also want to mention that there was another couple who seemed to be arguing throughout our stay, which added to the feeling of being in someone’s home and made things a bit uncomfortable. The hotel does serve breakfast, which was quite good. It was a little on the pricey side, but we both enjoyed it and felt it was worth it.

  Fantastic views for miles!

  What a beautiful location! High on a hill overlooking the expansive sea! We stayed in the Diamond room which had a king bed and a very large covered comfortable terrace. It was very quiet and peaceful. There is no elevator and the building covers 3 stories. The breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced, and again you get that view sitting on the terrace! There is no beach accessible, but the friendly staff will drive you around at a cost less than you would pay for a taxi. The nearby restaurants were excellent, and if needed, the staff will pick you up at the bottom of the hill if you don't want to walk it. The pool was fantastic and the lounge chairs were quite comfortable. It was a wonderful stay, thank you to the kind staff!

  Beautiful place very conveniant from the airport.

  The hotel staff takes good care of you and makes you feel right at home.From pickup at the airport, to drinks at the bar, breakfast and drop off at the airport everything went flawless. In additon the location is beautiful.

  I love boutique hotels and this hotel is no exception . So simple to check in such personalized service and the staff was always there to assist you. You never had to wait for anything unlike the larger hotels and I can’t believe how friendly everyone including the guests were. Everything was always clean the pool was beautiful. I may recommend a car while visiting. The taxis are very expensive although the hotel has a car service to get you places at a greatly reduced fee from the taxis. We were only a short ride away from everything we wanted to see and do. I highly recommend this place for those who like a quiet and relaxing hotel.

  The hotel itself was really nice in terms of location and the architecture. We enjoyed our stay and the view of the ocean from the hotel. We enjoyed the tranquility and hospitality of the staff in terms of getting rides to various locations. The negative points were all related to the maintenance of the room. Many of the light fixtures were not working, the bathroom tub was not draining, the water pressure in the shower was really low etc.
