    I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Antwerp in March and April 2026.As a Diamond member of the IHG One Rewards programme and a loyal guest of this hotel for over 17 years, I wish to stress that this not is not written lightly and it is with considerable regret that I report a significant and ongoing decline in service quality, now clearly below the standards expected Crowne Plaza.Since last summer, several recurring issues have become apparent:The absence of towels at the swimming pool, requiring guests to queue at reception, even for sauna use, leading to people using the saune without towel and so to evident hygiene concerns. In the gym, multiple machines are out of order and no towels are available, again raising both service quality and hygiene concerns, which are unacceptable for a hotel of this standard.During my stay in March, we were:First assigned a room with a strong sewage odor,Then moved to a room with a severely worn-out mattress, significantly affecting our sleep quality.Unfortunately, my April stay confirmed this deterioration:The first night was spent in a room with a malfunctioning ventilation system (temperature could not be reduced below 25°C, which is unacceptable in Belgium in April) and a defective mattress,A sock from a previous guest was found next to the bed (not underneath), raising serious concerns about cleanliness standards,After requesting a room change, we were assigned yet another room with a partially collapsed mattress.It is essential in an establishment of this category that bedding is regularly checked and replaced, which clearly does not appear to be the case.As a result, we endured two poor nights’ sleep, despite choosing this hotel, located only 45 minutes from our home, specifically so that our daughter could rest ahead of an international swimming competition. At €280 per night, this experience is simply unacceptable.I would also like to highlight a particularly concerning incident: at the restaurant, the card payment terminal had a defective key, which staff were aware of. Despite this, I was asked to enter my PIN twice, exposing me to the risk of having my bank card blocked. This reflects a serious lack of professionalism and raises security concerns.In addition:No commercial gesture was offered despite my complaints at reception,No IHG points were credited for either my March or April stays,It was also not possible to earn points at the restaurant, which itself offers a very limited menu.Finally, it is particularly troubling that a room with known technical issues (including faulty ventilation) was reassigned to another guest due to the absence of maintenance services over the weekend.After 17 years of loyalty, this was my last visit to this property.     Very disappointed with the standard of this hotel

    Frankly speaking, I was disappointed in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Antwerp. Yes, check in was great and the hotel overall very clean. However, the curtains in our room were hanging off the end of it’s track one end. There was an awful smell of sewerage in the room which, when brought to the attention of the reception informed that it was a known issue and all they could do was offer a free drinks voucher. Our rooms view was one over the adjoining motorway and parking lot. Breakfast was not impressive at all (much lower quality than the IHG Indigo Hotel in Brussels where stayed). The room was supposed to be an upgraded one yet, from my experience was just a standard room. Sadly, we cannot recommend this hotel to other guests thinking to reserve here and neither would we stay in this hotel again as it is nothing more than a 3 star standard.     Excellent hôtelAnd well-located with friendly staff. Rooms are modern (ask for not having the. 12th floor though - it is old); I got the 7th floor and it was upgraded.
