Regarding the restaurant downstairs Pilar. The service is a disaster. We ordered two orders of oysters, but instead they brought us just 2, room temp disastrous looking oysters, that had any sauce. he just gave us a pepper and one slice of lemon. Whattawhat????? Seriously ??? Shame on you. When we asked to cancel the rest of them, he just rolled his pathetic eyes on us. Never ever will I come back to that "restaurant".

Fine location, disappointing food.

Excellently located opposite The Royal Museum of Fine Arts (KMSKA), the sunny terrace of Hotel Pilar looks welcoming. However, although pleasant and courteous the service was slow, and the food mediocre. My friend's meatloaf was acceptable, but my Shrimp Croquettes were not: composed of a slimy brown sauce, deep-fried, the two small croquettes (20€) had very little to do with shrimps, and a great deal to do with processed food. Disappointing. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Hotel Pilar, responded to this review Dear Peter,We appreciate the time you took to provide your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed the excellent location of our hotel, right opposite The Royal Museum of Fine Arts. However, we are sorry to hear that your dining experience did not meet your expectations. Our food bar is highly regarded for its regional cuisine and seasonal products sourced from local suppliers; we regret that the Shrimp Croquettes did not reflect the quality we strive to offer. Additionally, we understand that prompt service is integral to a pleasant dining experience, and we apologise if you found the service slower than expected. We will certainly review your feedback with our food bar team to ensure our standards are upheld. We hope that we have the pleasure of welcoming you back. With very best wishes,Team Pilar

A hotel full of wonderful surprises

The small room we booked turned out to be not only huge but also an interior designers dream, the hidden staircase is a gallery full of contemporary art and the breakfast was a delight - even for breakfast-avoiders like me. The location could not be better if you like restaurants and being far enough away from the beaten tourist tracks. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Hotel Pilar, responded to this review Dear Theoq,Thank you for your positive review, we appreciate it.We are delighted that you appreciated the spaciousness of our rooms and the unique design. The careful curation of art and furniture in each room is part of our effort to create an eclectic space where guests can feel inspired and at home.It is also great that our location met your expectations, providing a serene escape from the usual tourist areas while still being close to a vibrant selection of restaurants and cultural venues. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.Kind regards,Team Pilar
