Location

The hotel lies in a quiet area near Antwerp's city park, around the block from Charlottalei metro stop (250 m away), which offers easy access to the central station and historical centre. The A1/E19 ring road is a 5-minute drive from the hotel. Nearby attractions include Mas Museum and the cathedral. Brussels Airport is about 50 km away.

Facility

8 junior suites, 5 single rooms and 76 double rooms are located on 8 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities available at the hotel include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     Absolutely unacceptable – dangerous and dishonest stayThis was without doubt the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced, and certainly not what anyone would expect from a Leonardo hotel.The bathrooms were filthy, with mould throughout, layers of dust, and clear evidence that they had not been properly cleaned. On top of this, all shower floor trays were cracked, making them unhygienic, unsafe, and quite frankly unusable.There was no working heating in the large living room area, rendering the accommodation uncomfortable, unliveable, and completely unacceptable.More seriously, there was a dangerously exposed heating element (fireplace) with absolutely no safety protection. With a baby present, this was extremely alarming — a clear burn hazard and a total failure of basic safety standards.Even worse, the garden sliding door was broken and unstable. It gave way, came out of its frame, and could very easily have caused serious injury or worse. This goes far beyond poor maintenance — it is outright dangerous. No apology was offered; instead, a worker simply suggested that there “should have been a note saying ‘don’t open’”.Finally, we were lied to about the pool table. We were told it was complete and fully working, while staff later admitted they already knew this was not true. While minor compared to the safety risks, it perfectly sums up the overall lack of honesty and care.This property should not be operating in its current condition. Cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and basic honesty were all seriously lacking. I would strongly warn families, particularly those with young children, to stay elsewhere.To make matters worse, no member of staff — from reception to management — was willing to take responsibility or offer a genuine apology. The token offer of a tiny negligible discount on a future stay does absolutely nothing to compensate for what was a devastating experience, especially considering the large amount we spent on this stay

    I'm really torn between 3 and 4 stars here, would give it 3.5 if I could. Positives, definitely the helpful and friendly staff. Also I booked the deluxe double room which was very spacious and the room was clean and well maintained. Negatives for me was the breakfast selection and also the parking which a distance away for 21 Euro per night.

    Wish we had read reviews before booking. We booked a loft room with an outdoor terrace which is probably pleasant in summer. It is separated from next door by a net. The room is far smaller than photo suggests but quiet. Coffee machine and TV are fine. Bed generous size. Bathroom dated with black mould around top panel of shower. Floor and shower-base tiles look grubby. Heating effectie. No toiletries despite 4* rating. Lighting and door systems are old fashione. Necessary to use "code" if room cleaning required next day. Staff friendly and helpful. Location rather disappointing. Not much of interest. Quite a distance from station. Generally, we felt the hotel badly needs updating.

    Avoid at any cost!!!! The hotel is dated. Pictures are misleading. The sofa bed in a family room is dated, shabby and old. It’s not possible to sleep on it as it is squeaky and loud. The breakfast is extremely poor, not tasty and very limited choice. Plates and cutlery are dirty. Only 3 large and 3 small towels were prepared for the family of 4. Only one single duvet was provided for 2 children. The hotel is very oriented at only one particular nationality.

    The hotel is on a quite location and about 15 minutes walking distance from the city center. There is public transport available in front of the hotel. The rooms are very spacious. Very nicely decorated, great bed and a wonderful shower. Breakfast is excellent and the staff are superfriendly.
