    Live cooking - overcrowded

    Overcrowded, no parking, parked 600m away. Live cooking buffet was way too crowded as well. Plundered dishes, empty buffet, can hardly find basic things like plates. At least 50+ too many guests in the dining room. Clearly the only interest is to maximize profit ragardless of customer experience.

    Goed hotel en goede uitvalsbasis. Prettige bediening Goed ontbijt en goede voorzieningen. Mooie en luxe kamers. Modern, gezellig en goed onderhouden.

    This is simply a consistenly outstanding countryside hotel at the edge of Beveren, which means you have everything close at hand.I have been coming here for over 20 years for work at the ports at Kallo. I cannot imagine looking for a different hotel. If you take the backroads drive to the port, you avoid the traffic, see the countryside and get a great picture of this clean industrial area.

    Avoid cottage bedrooms

    I would not recommend the Cottage rooms.I had the noise of the airco from the main building during the whole night (it was just in front of my window).To arrive at the cottage bedrooms, you need to walk/drive at the back of the main hotel/restaurant and see deliveries (I was even blocked when I wanted to leave the hotel with my car by a truck delivery), we see trashes, wooden palets and empty bottles of softdrinks and beers.I asked at the reception if there was another way to arrive to my bedroom, and the answer was no.The exterior of the cottage rooms has not been renovated (the window frames and doors are made of aluminium and looks to be 30-40 years old), the buildings look old and I was really doubtful that I would find a nice bedroom in that building when I entered it. The bedroom was renovated nicely however, even though it needs some fixing and touchups already (paint is gone at several places, toilet flush button is missing, ...).This is not normal for a Van der Valk hotel, I'm used to higher standards. I would still recommend the hotel, but only if you take the main building bedrooms. The restaurant was a nice experience, and the breakfast was over the top, I think the best breakfast I've ever seen (see photos, and I didn't photograph everything available...).The staff was always nice and helpful. A bit of wait in the morning for the checkout (15 minutes before I could talk to somebody).
