    Great budget hotel!

    rating01 Dec 2025

This is a budget hotel however we found it to be excellent. It is increfibly clean, the rooms are small but the beds are so comfy. The bathroom is small but nice and the shower is excellent. Handsoap and shower gel/hairwash is provided. They provide towels and there are lots of sockets and charging points. There is heating/aircon which was easy to control. The breakfast is continental and there is lots of choice of food, plenty of juice, tea, coffee and other hot drinks. The staff were lovely. We had to check in at the Mercure hotel next door but their staff were excellent and it was no bother at all. A great budget hotel that I would happily stay at again.

    Avoid this depressing hotel

    rating17 Sept 2024

Avoid at all costs. The checkin experience involves you following a torn piece pf paper cellotaped to the door telling you to go to the hotel next door to check in. You get codes to get in - there is no one - not a single person to help. So when your code doesn’t work for the lift or stairs you have to wait 30 minutes for help! The hotel corridors stink of damp and something gross. The rooms are battered and towels thin, old and bumpy. Its noisy and the beds are uncomfortable with flat pillows. Again no one to ask for help. The toilet seat was broken in my bathroom - but no one to help plus if I left my room I couldn’t get back upstairs due to the stupid code system. Breakfast the final disappointment. Nothing but sad fruit if you have allergies- nothing labelled and you’re shrugged at if you ask. Ibis budget Blankenberge, Guest Services / Front Office at ibis budget Blankenberge, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, and we apologize for the issues you encountered. Our keyless entry and use of codes are in place to ensure a higher level of security and convenience for our guests, but we understand that this can be frustrating if something goes wrong. We're sorry that your code didn’t work properly and caused delays. We do our best to offer support remotely, but we take your point about the need for more on-site assistance, and we’ll be reviewing this further. We regret that the condition of your room, the bathroom, and the breakfast selection were disappointing. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide. We'll address your comments regarding cleanliness, comfort to improve these aspects for future stays. Our breakfast buffet includes a wide variety of options such as eggs, croissants, pain au chocolat, yogurts, ham, cheese, sausages, pancakes, donuts, and more, alongside fresh fruit. We take food allergies seriously and always strive to provide clear labeling for our guests' safety, so we regret that this was not properly communicated during your visit.Regarding the staff, we are proud of the friendly and helpful team we have, and we apologize if you felt that your questions weren't addressed as they should have been. We will review these areas to ensure better communication and assistance in the future. We truly appreciate your feedback and will work to make improvements. We hope you might reconsider staying with us again so that we can offer you a much better experience.

    Clean, modern, no-frills experience.

    rating19 Jul 2023

This is a purpose-built Ibis adjoining the railway station at Blankenberge. It is clean and modern, and uses personalised entry codes for the lift and rooms for added security. The rooms are very basic and sparse but are thoughtfully arranged to make the most of the space. There is a drop-down shelf which serves as a desk, and a folding chair is provided. There were plenty of electrical outlets and USB charging points. I found the bed and pillows extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a pleasant surprise with a good-sized shower.Even with the window open I was not disturbed by the trains outside.Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate, though there are probably better options available in town. There was a bit of a mix-up over the price of the breakfast (I ended up getting charged twice) though this was easily sorted out in a few minutes. All in all I was very happy, but had I been staying longer or with somebody else, I would probably go for the Mercure next door.

    Outstanding All Rounder

    rating23 Feb 2023

Immaculately presented fairly new hotel right beside the railway station, but without any disturbance from the trains. I'd a front facing room overlooking the church and the noise insulation was faultless. The weather was very cold but the room was easily kept very warm. Enough room for a solo guest and sufficient storage - only negative was none of the coat hangers had a bar on them to hang trousers over. At quiet times the reception desk is unstaffed and you need to check-in at the adjoining Mercure - breakfast is also served there on quiet days. The buffet selection at both hotels is to very good standard. A very secure hotel as you need a 6 digit PIN to access the main door, lift and bedroom. The price however wasn't "Budget", but was in line with an expensive cost of living compared to the UK where I live. I'd be delighted to stay here again.
