    Perfect location

The Staff and location are perfect. You can be in the square within a minute and the canal view is beautiful. The only thing we would recommend is that the bed, pillows and linens be replaced as they are very worn. It also seems that there is a smoking area near the breakfast room and the smell is off-putting. These are minor things given the location and the staff being superb!

Find another hotel if you value service

    rating21 Apr 2026

Beautiful hotel with 0 service. If you are looking for just a nice spacious room it’s fine but there are much better hotels in the area I am sure. This is not a 4 star hotel, perhaps a 3. The staff does not carry bags and stood by while guests struggled to get their bags up the steps. It was almost comical. We were thinking maybe the hotel had a policy to not carry guests bags. Coffee was not replenished in the room and nobody answered the phone at reception. Breakfast was fine but nothing stellar. No takeaway coffee option for guests leaving early. Understand recycling is important but there are options that can be implemented. Overall I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel.

Our Go To Hotel in Brugge

    rating19 Apr 2026

The Grand Hotel Casselbergh is without a doubt one of our favourite hotels. It is a beautiful building and the Junior Suite that we stayed in was comfortable with a huge bed and great facilities. It was spotlessly clean. We like to stay in the old part of the building. You will always receive a friendly welcome and all of the staff that we interacted with from the ladies who service the rooms , the bar and breakfast staff and the front of house reception desk are a credit to the hotel. Although the hotel does not serve evening meals, the breakfast in the newly refurbished dining room was excellent with fresh produce every morning and a large selection of both hot and cold food to choose from. There is obviously lots to do in Brugge but if you simply fancy a quiet hour or two the lounge area is beautiful with huge chandeliers and comfortable seating. The hotel itself is in a great location and very close to both local attractions, restaurants and shops. We try and visit Brugge at least once a year and we would not stay anywhere else. Finally when taking into consideration the standard of the hotel and the facilities, even taking into account the current low value of Sterling, I do not think that the cost of staying at the hotel is unreasonable. There are several different types of rooms to suit most budgets.
