Location

Occupying a prime location in Bruges' historic old town and the result of thorough renovation and restoration works, this charming historical hotel is a magnificent enhancement to this unique Unesco World Heritage City. There is no better starting place when retracing the steps of the Dukes of Burgundy, wandering through cobble streets and past impressive monuments paying tribute to over 500 years of history. Guests will find restaurants, bars, pubs and shops in the hotel's immediate vicinity and Brussels Airport is approximately 80 km away.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in a 5-storey building with a lift and 93 non-smoking rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available.     We spent one night in Dukes Palace in Bruges and had dinner in their Julien restaurant. Great infrastructure, lovely and friendly staff, great room with amazing terrace overlooking the city. Good food at the restaurant again with friendly and flexible staff (change one dish without any problem). Great garden in the city center. Only less positive was breakfast being too busy and packer. Next time with s7ch a terrace wed have BF in room 😀

    We have just returned from this hotel after staying for one night, the location is perfect, everything is within walking distance, 5 min walk from the main square.. There is underground parking which is a bonus. Our room was lovely, comfortable bed and lovely bathroom.. We had breakfast which had lots of choice (even champagne) We would definitely stay here again

    Beautiful surroundings. Old palace converted into a hotel. Quirky spaces of course. Bed was hard. Bathroom was lovely. Minimal counter space, but a great shower. Buffet area for breakfast is very constrained and tight. People lining up for the hot food are in the area for pastries and plates. Minimal food choices for a premium hotel. Short staff. Many times food bows were empty and not one staff member on the floor. The bar - Julien's Bar - staff was fine. Not overly friendly but not rude. The croquettes were disgusting. When we told the waiter, he said "sorry" and walked away. We asked if there was anything else we could order, and he said "we only have what's on the menu." Very disappointed when we saw the table next to us get an order of fries. We asked another server if we, too, can get an order of fries and he replied, "absolutely." Very different experience.

    We booked this hotel on line and after paying for 3 nights at reception, we were brought to a small apartment complex on a side street. We complained straight away but we're told we should know the difference in Residence and Hotel. We decided to put up with it but we noticed a strong odour in the hallway. We eventually realised it was scented spray masking out the strong smell of sewage. We rang over to reception and were assured it was resolved. The smell got worse and even the room air conditioning didn't stop it. I never ever complain but I did explain how bad everything was at checkout. So basically we had a terrible time in a smelly hotel with useless staff..
