    Perfect city hotel!

    rating28 Apr 2026

The perfect city hotel – no matter how you look at it. I was there with a group (around 20 guests), and the booking process alone was a dream: competent, professional, quick and even accommodating to boot! They had thought of everything (including a permit for the coach to enter). A friendly, welcoming reception, perfectly organised. Not only the location (2 minutes from the Grand Place), but also the friendliness and competence at reception are exemplary. The rooms are spacious, lovely, with great bathrooms (many, perhaps even all?) featuring windows (unusual these days), the breakfast – served by a super-efficient and super-friendly team – leaves nothing to be desired; the barman (during our stay) is a real star (I’ve rarely encountered such a professional) and the room service staff are smartly dressed, super-friendly and attentive. The hotel’s architecture is a feast for the eyes. I work in the tourism industry, travel a lot – and must say: city hotels like this (as far as I know, the Navarra is privately run) have become a rarity! A big thank you and huge compliments! Many thanks for your excellent service! Sue Neervoort, General Manager at Hotel Navarra Brugge, responded to this review Dear Ralf,Thank you very much for this wonderful and detailed review. It truly means a lot to us, especially coming from someone with a professional background in tourism. We are delighted to read that your group stay went so smoothly from the very first contact. Our team always strives to make the organisation as seamless as possible, so your kind words about the booking process and preparation, including the coach access, are highly appreciated. It is also a pleasure to know that you enjoyed our central location, just a short walk from the Markt, as well as the comfort of the rooms, the breakfast experience, and the atmosphere of the hotel. Your compliments about our reception team, breakfast staff, housekeeping, and especially our barman will certainly be shared with everyone. They will be proud to read this.We are particularly grateful for your remark about the character and architecture of the hotel. As an independently run property, we do our utmost to combine authenticity with a high level of service, so your recognition of this is very rewarding. It was a real pleasure to welcome you and your group, and we sincerely hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.Warm regards,Sue NeervoortGeneral Manager

    Fair. Won't go back

    rating22 Apr 2026

The advertising was misleading. They was no jazz bar. Busy playing recorded music in the bar, doesn't match the implication. This was the reason we selected the hotel. The walk to the room after taking the elevator was very long (I understand it's an old building) but was winding with up hill ramps and 2 small staircases. I'm in my 70s, and altho I'm strong and physically fit, this was difficult for me. The front desk should have told me that I'd be carrying my suitcase up stairs and offered to take it for me.The room was very plain and the bathroom was unsafe. There was a deep maybe 24" high tub which included the shower. But there was no grab bar to safely get in and out. I definitely did not feel safe getting in and out. My friend slipped getting out, which shouldn't be a concern. The buffet was fine, the hotel and lobby was pretty, it was convenient to the main market area, but too many concerns for me to recommend it. Sue Neervoort, General Manager at Hotel Navarra Brugge, responded to this review Dear Arlene,Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay.We are truly sorry to read that your experience did not meet your expectations. Your comments are important to us, and we appreciate you explaining your concerns so clearly.Regarding the jazz bar, we understand your disappointment. Live music is organized on special occasions rather than on a daily basis, and we will certainly review how this is presented to ensure it sets the right expectations. As for the layout of the hotel, being a historic building does mean that some rooms are located further away and may require a few steps along the way. We completely understand that this can be inconvenient, and we regret that we did not proactively offer assistance with your luggage. This is something we will reinforce with our team.Concerning the bathroom, thank you for highlighting this. We do have different room types, including some with walk-in showers, and guests are always welcome to mention their preference. We will also continue to review how we can further improve comfort and safety in our bathrooms. We are glad to read that you appreciated our location and the overall setting of the hotel, but we are sorry that these positives did not outweigh the difficulties you encountered.Thank you again for your honest feedback, which helps us improve the experience for future guests.Kind regards,Sue NeervoortGeneral Manager

Cheap feeling hotel with cold vibes

    rating06 Apr 2026

Cheap feeling hotel and cold vibes. Beds are uncomfortable, pillows and sheets are terrible. Very bare rooms with shower not feeling clean as shower water didn drain for us. Found a huge spider in our room and very unfriendly staff. Bruge has so many hotels to choose from. They have potential but it isn’t maximized at all. It’s too bad as it was supposed to be a special time for our family. Sue Neervoort, General Manager at Hotel Navarra Brugge, responded to this review Dear guestWe are truly sorry to read that your stay did not meet your expectations. When it comes to the bed and bedding, we know that this is a personal matter and that way difficult to determine what guests prefer. As friendliness and hospitality are at the core of what we strive to offer every guest we must admit that we are quite surprised by your comments as all colleagues made considerable efforts to ensure you had a pleasant stay, including assisting with arrangements such as restaurant bookings. Nevertheless, we sincerely regret that this was not reflected in your experience.Maybe we were not really the hotel you were looking for.Kind regardsSue NeervoortGeneral Manager
