  A good option in Bruges!

  We stayed only one night in this hotel... we are happy with our choice. The staff is friendly; easy and fast check-in. The location is good; the walk to the city center is pleasant and easy. Our room (1) was clean and comfortable with its en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was nice. Soundproofing within the hotel is not great (although footsteps on the upper floors stopped early in the evening) and WiFi was pretty terrible during our stay.Overall, we found the value provided to be quite good in the context of the many places we visited during our trip in Belgium.

  A great little hotel not far from the centre

  This hotel is a great little find - it was only 5-10 mins walk from the main square and is close to the big concert hall which has a huge square outside and lots of nice restaurants and bars.The bed was large and comfortable - the room is fine, a little tired if you look closely but no more than most hotels. There is no air-conditioning which wasn't ideal when we visited as it was 30 degrees but there is a large fan in the room.We had a room on the 2nd floor which was nice and spacious and it was quiet.Breakfast is a bargain - cheap and loads of it - perfect continental breakfast.The staff were lovely - really helpful and friendly.No parking however there is free parking a few minutes walk away.

  Nice place and wonderful staff

  What a Wonderful place to stay while in Bruges. My wife and I are seniors and this hotel was the perfect place for us. Comfortable room and beds to sleep. The breakfast was very good with a small outdoor area is you want to go there. The hotelis in a residential area and in the historic area in Bruges. The main square is about a 20 min casual walk from the hotel and easy to find. There are restaurants in the immediate area and of course in the historic area to. Mass transportation is available if you need it. Although the hotel has no car parking, there is free parking on the mainstreet with a walk back to the hotel about 10 minutes walk. Nice place and very good people attend and operate this hotel.

  Extremely small double room with a need for maintenance works.

  We booked a double room economy for 2 adults and 1 child. The truth is we did not notice a special mention for the child's age, so the booking was made for a child younger than 1 yr old. We came across an extremely small room with its only window on the street level next ro the cars parked just outside. The radiator was 30 xm from the bed, so the room temperature was totally uneven and caused a very bad sleep due to the heat. Also, the TV led light proved to be very unpleasant during the night. Gladly, Mr. Taulent was extremely helpful, always willing to find a solution to all problems. He made an arrangement for an extra bed (barely fitting in the room) and helped us in all visit arrangements. The breakfast was OK and the location is fine as well -practically 15m walk from the city center.I believe Mr.Taulent, with his happy and helpful spirit is keeping the place together.If you are going to visit, don't go for the economy room unless you absolutely need to. The triple room presented on the picture gallery does not reflect the double+ 1 child room.By leaving the hotel, we find that the hotel needs certain maintenance works such as the main room door which seems far from secure.People make our guest experience better and therefore we are grateful for Mr.Taulent.

  Another positive place to have experienced.

  The Hotel Montovani is a reasonably priced hotel that offers you all that you would expect or need. Its biggest asset, of course, is its location. It is located a block off the main avenue, Hoefijzerlaan and is just mere blocks away from the Historic City Center.The hotel has a lounge area and a glass covered veranda that opens out to a lovely small garden. This was the ideal location in which to enjoy the delicious breakfast or, perhaps to relax in the afternoon with a hot beverage. These were included in the room rate. The rooms were comfy and clean, the bed and pillows, comfortable, enabling you to wake up refreshed and ready to start your day of exploration. The service was friendly and efficient. There was free wifi. There was no onsite parking, but free parking was available on the nearby avenue, just minutes away. Bruges is the capital and largest city of West Flanders. It was inducted into UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2000. We were visiting Bruges with the intent of adding this World Heritage Site to our list, in this case, there would be three. Bruges's Historic City Centre is distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets, medieval buildings. In fact, along with cities such as Amsterdam, it is often referred to as the "Venice of the North'. The Belfry of Bruges is part of the World Heritage Site of Belfries of Belgium and France list, which includes 56 Belfries in total. The tower, which dates from the 13th century, has 366 steps which lead to the top of the 272 feet high building. This is a must "to do" climb!The third site is the Ten Wijngaerde Beguinage, a beguinage built in the 13th century and included in the World Heritage Site of "Flemish Beguinages". A Beguinage was an architectural complex which was built to house beguines, lay religious women who lived in the community without taking vows or retiring from the world.As we were only here for two nights, I do not have a lot of recommendations on where to eat dinner. The one dinner that we did eat here, was at the Cafe Sportsman, situated on the Markt. The meal was good and the service was good, but what was most extraordinary, was the location. There are many restaurants situated around this square, so your choice is quite overwhelming. The buildings are extraordinaire, the Belfry was located across from us, and in the evening, the light is very distracting. A visit to Bruges is worthwhile and actually deserves more than two nights, but there was still much ahead in our journey. So whether you stay longer or shorter, the Montovani comes with a high recommendation!
