Better to avoid this place if you can

    rating25 May 2026

It was hot (88 degrees) and they refused to enable the air conditioners! They turned the circuit breakers off and removed the remote controls to the a/c units in every room. I was on the top floor so it was 90 degrees in my room and they just shrugged and said it was the policy of the building owner to disable the a/c until June 1, so the hotel wasn't responsible. It was 2 days of misery. The location was close to the tourist sites, but you have to drag your bags over 200 yards of cobblestones since no cars are allowed. I was however fortunate that the construction workers were taking that time off. It is undergoing an extensive remodeling and people have complained it is very noisy along with any rooms facing the street.

    Scam & sanitary hazard

    rating12 Mar 2026

It's a scam! A Sanitary hazard and fire allarm at midnight for 15 minutes. Paid 140€ per night. Tge pictures on the websites are misleading. Staff fighting with guests. There are many better options in the city, don't fall for this! Dirty, dirty, dirty hotel. Avoid it! Just don’t book..

    rating11 Mar 2026

Honestly, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.The room smelled disgusting as soon as we walked in. The carpet on the floor was extremely dirty and gross, which made the whole place feel very unhygienic. It definitely didn’t feel like a clean place to stay.It was also extremely loud. You can clearly hear people outside on the street shouting, talking, and drinking late at night, so getting proper rest is almost impossible. There were no amenities at all—basically nothing provided. Even the telephone in the room didn’t work, and to make things worse, the bed was broken.Overall, the place didn’t feel safe or comfortable at all. If you’re looking for somewhere clean, quiet, and where you can actually feel safe staying, I would strongly recommend looking somewhere else. 🤣🤣 Guest Relations, Owner at Floris Arlequin Grand Place, responded to this review Dear Stay14298696803,Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience in our hotel. Nice Hotel In Great Location

    rating07 Dec 2025

Having read the recent Tripadvisor reviews I have to admit that we almost cancelled our stay and arrived at the hotel with trepidation but we needn't have worried.Thing to remember is that it's a 3 star hotel and things may look a little tired and it may not be as plush as a 4 or 5 star place but reception were friendly and efficient, lifts to the room were a little old but totally reliable, the room itself (we were on the 1st floor overlooking the street) was a really good size, with a huge, comfortable bed, plenty of storage, tea and coffee making facilities and even a safe included. The bathroom was great too - powerful shower which was very hot, loads of towels and even bath robes were included. Toilet was separate to the bathroom but that was fine. Most importantly, even if some of the decor and furnishings looked tired, everywhere was clean and more than met the standards we were expecting.Location was fantastic for us - right in the heart of the city itself and just a short walk from the main square, the shops and the Christmas markets. You can walk everywhere so no need to worry about public transport. We walked from the Eurostar terminus (about 25 minutes) and also to the Central Station (about 15 minutes) where we took a train for a day trip to Bruges which we recommend.Breakfast was also great - hot and cold buffet with plenty of choice. The only downside was, as many have reported, the noise. I can only speak for our room of course - this overlooked the street to the front of the hotel. The windows were double glazed but this didn't stop the sounds from the street below which was narrow with high buildings which I think amplify and echo the sounds (I'm no scientist though!). The sounds of people enjoying themselves do go on long into the night so, if you're a light sleeper I suggest you may want to pack some ear plugs (I bought some and problem solved :-) ).All in all though, a really enjoyable stay. Noisy ++

    rating07 Dec 2025

Incredibly noisy. no sound protection on windows and loud music till 3am. We might as well have slept in the noisy bar opposite ..Hard beds. Tired decor, stained dirty carpets. Bathroom was fine and room was clean. We didn’t have breakfast. It’s very central. I asked to move rooms because of the noise and the man at reception rudely said it’s the first time someone had complained about the noise and he didn’t know what we were talking about. Looking at reviews that’s not true! Would not recommend. Exhausted today!
