Budget Hotel close to Brussels Midi Station

    rating07 Sept 2025

Budget Hotel and you get what you pay for. I was in a room that resembled a prison cell but mostly importantly for me, it was clean. I don't spend much time in Hotel rooms so it was fine. Take note though, there is a massive building site in the area just now for a new metro line. The area itself is very convenient for Brussels Midi station but to get to and from the Hotel you have to walk through a plaza with some very sketchy people hanging around so the usual caution has to be given. All in all, ok but would I stay here again? Probably not.

Poor value for money. Tiny room and a dated building and not in a nice part of town, Access is difficult due to the metro building work. Shout out for the housekeeping - the room was at least clean.

You get what you pay for…

This place certainly matched my expectations - which were extremely low. I was assigned a room on the ground floor (the only room on this floor, I think) and was kept awake by noises coming from the reception area and also other guests upstairs. The room was spartan, to say the least, with few facilities. It smelt musty and damp, and as if someone had been smoking previously. Perhaps the worst part was the shower room, which became almost completely flooded when the shower was turned on. The drains also smelt really badly of rotten eggs/sewage.There were some plus points - the room was (mostly) clean and the bed reasonably comfortable, although with only two tiny pillows. The hotel is also located extremely close to Brussels Midi/Zuid, a convenient 5 minute walk - although the area itself seems pretty dodgy and might not feel safe for some.If you’re on a tight budget, maybe give this place a go - but be warned, you really do get what you pay for.

Excellent hotel nearby Brussels Midi-Zuid Station!

    rating23 Jan 2024

I stayed two nights here, and it really is a terrific budget friendly hotel in Brussels! I don’t understand the negative reviews, since I had a wonderful stay here!Location was perfect for me - approxIrately 600 metres from the Brussels Midi-Zuid train station. Coming off the Eurostar train and then wanting to transit to the airport very early on the final morning, the location of the hotel was perfect for me. I was able to walk to the train station in 5-10 minutes. The hotel is a quick 20-30 minute walk to Grand Place and you can easily walk to all of the other major sightseeing attractions from there. There are many restaurants, cafes, shops nearby to the hotel, and there are at least 3 major supermarkets within walking distance. Lidl is by far my favourite supermarket and I was happy to walk the 1.2 kms to do my grocery shopping there. There is one smaller supermarket on the same street as the hotel, and a larger one reachable 5-10 mins on foot. The room was well designed and functional. In the room there was a writing desk, a large luggage storage rack with hangers, and a small bed side table. The toilet, sink and shower are separate in true European style (think ibis). The toilet is in its own enclosed room, and the shower and sink are in the main room. Fine for me, since I am a solo traveler, however, if you are traveling with a companion, it would be something to be aware of. The shower has a large in shower dispenser of combination shampoo/body wash, which I found handy for two nights. No hand soap provided, but I used the shower gel with no complaints. Shower pressure and temperature were both excellent! The bed was small but extremely comfortable. The bedding was new, thick and fluffy. I had a really great sleep both nights! There are many electrical sockets throughout the room, all in good working order. Including one beside the bed, which is handy for charging your phone overnight.Wifi is secure and password-protected and signal was strong throughout the hotel, including in the rooms. There is a working lift in the hotel, which is appreciated, since the stairs are incredibly narrow, steep and awkward even without large baggage. These staircases are quite common in older European hotels I am noticing. There is a working heater in the room, which I did use (considering it's January), however I didn't feel the hotel was overly cold. There must be central heating throughout. I did see A/C in the room, but didn't test it to see if it worked (because it's January!).There was a flatscreen television in the room with approximately 20 channels. Most were in French, but I was able to locate maybe 2 channels in English.Staff were exceptional and deserve special mention. I arrived very early by Eurostar train (8am) and I was able to check in to my room right away which was unexpected but certainly appreciated! I was very thankful, since I am finding early check-in isn't really policy in European cities. The hotel also offers really important extras like city maps, and way finding. Staff were extremely kind, attentive and happy to help you out in any way possible. Languages spoken are French, English and possibly some others at the hotel.I didn't join in on the breakfast services at the hotel, but did see the spread and it looked varied and delicious! The hotel also has a self-service coffee machine in the lobby where you can make a coffee of your choice (long black, cappuccino, latte etc.) for a payment of 1-1.5 Euro. A bit pricey, but lacking other options, I appreciated having coffee in house for early morning transits. The hotel was on the older side, but the rooms have clearly been renovated and are really fresh, modern and very cozy. I really enjoyed my stay here, and would absolutely return again! Despite a tremendous amount of construction ongoing outside of the hotel, my stay was very quiet and peaceful and I wasn't awoken once to the noise of construction or other guests.Truly, a wonderful hotel in Brussels! Absolutely recommend!

    Better than expected

We had a lovely stay after our eurostar had been cancelled and we needed a last minute hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the room in general was clean. The rooms facing away from the road were very quiet and only occasionally noises could be heard through the door.
