  The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were a large group, and they successfully fulfilled our request to have all our rooms on the same floor. We were very satisfied with the quality of the rooms and the comfort of the beds—a detail that's always appreciated, especially when you're used to your own bed at home!   Lovely hotel, shame about the rooms

  The staff are friendly and professional. The bar area is lovely. The breakfast is extensive (and nice), the shopping centre opposite is very good. But, oh dear - the rooms are awful. Those in the ‘old’ half are floor to ceiling dark brown with terrible lighting which makes them dark and depressing. In winter I’ve had to use my phone torch to create enough light to apply makeup! Rooms in the ‘new’ half are significantly better (large and bright) but many overlook a back car park where very noisy dustbin lorries start arriving from 5am!! Maybe there are a few ‘new’ rooms that are quieter but I haven’t found them yet. That said, there is indeed quite a different experience in our newly renovated Superior rooms in the new block behind the hotel: they are brighter, more spacious and modern, with well-lit, modern bathrooms.I’m sorry about the early-morning noise from dustbin lorries. We have clear agreements with our waste provider on permitted collection times, and we’re contacting them to reinforce these.   Very disappointing

  Very disappointing stay. Although advertised as a 4 star hotel, there were several issues with our stay. The hairdryers did not work (to which I was only offered a part broken tiny travel hairdryer), the only iron available was broken too and leaked water all over my clothes. The rooms are very dated with leaks from the showers, uncomfortable pillows, very dim and dark lighting and leftover sweets from prior guests were left in one of the rooms which makes me doubt that they were thoroughly cleaned (this seems to be common as mentioned in other reviews too). The housekeeping ladies were quite rude to my colleagues and the older lady receptionist was extremely rude, calling my colleagues room saying that they would be charged a fee if they were 1 minute past the check out time (very strange given that they had not reached the check out time yet). When I asked the receptionist for some advice about getting trains in Belgium, she just said that she doesn’t take public transport instead of trying to help in any way, you expect a little more from a customer service perspective from a 4 star hotel! Only plus was the good breakfast.

  Disgustingly filthy.

  We had booked the Ibis hotel in the centre of Sint Niklaas, but about an hour before we arrived we received a phone call to say they were full and they had booked us a room in a different hotel. We were not happy because we were tired and had been travelking all day. However, when we arrived at the Serwir hotel we were greeted by a lovely friendly receptionist and give our room key. We then went into our room and I could have cried. It was run down and filthy. I wouldn't take my shoes off because the carpet was so badly stained and dirty. Dont go to this hotel until they clean it up a bit. This is not a bit of dust - this is filth and there should be no excuse for it. See attached photos. The photos are just a hint at what was wrong.

  Adequate room for an adequate price and just needed to crash for the night. Room was loud, you heard every car on the street. The stylish blinders before the window were unpractical to keep out the street lights and just a bit too short horizontally. Barh clean.
