Great location, but hotel needs some work!

    rating25 Dec 2025

For information, the hotel is in a pedestrian zone so taxis cannot drop you off in front of the hotel – not the hotel’s fault, just something to bear in mind! I was a little annoyed to be charged 35 Euros for an “early check in” bearing in mind we arrived 2 hours early, the room was ready, and this just seemed to be a money-making exercise, no-one had to do anything! The hotel is tired and our room needed some work, there was a cable sticking out of the bathroom wall and the clip that holds the shower head in place was broken, so we had to shower with a handheld shower head, which makes washing hair a challenge. The room is small, so the double bed is against the wall, so getting up in the middle of the night without disturbing your spouse, takes some careful manoeuvring. I couldn’t get the TV to work at all. I already knew, from previous reviews, that breakfast was different – and it was, we had 1 croissant, 1 roll, 2 slices of cheese and jam per person – already set out of the table. I don’t like open jam or sugar at breakfast, I always wonder if someone has sneezed on it – so I stuck to the croissant (which was delicious). The breakfast tables are very close to each other, too close for comfort. On the positive side, we asked for a room near the lift, which we were given, the breakfast staff were friendly and the location for the city hall is perfect!

    Quirky and cheap

    rating08 Dec 2025

This is the quirkiest place you will ever stayFull to bursting of trinkets and colour overloadRoom was very basic, no kettle, tiny bathroom, with a shower head which would not stay upright, a Tv with no remote Double bed pushed against a wall and a single, one tiny wardrobe and curtains which did not fit the window The room was very noisy as every other guest passed by chatted loudlyBreakfast was pre laid out being half a seeded baguette, a croissant , orange juice and a tea or coffee. No alternativesStaff very friendly, owner a little quirky with his breakfast magic trick he does to everyone Would I stay here again ? Probably not

    10/10 ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    rating04 Nov 2025

Amazing stay and experience down the hotel. Would highly recommend staying there. Only a stone throw away from the city center. And the owner / host (Ben) is such a character. Very jovial and down to earth guy. Planning to go back there soon and be defo staying in the same hotel.Plus their waffles & pancakes are to die for. Not forgetting the morrocan tea to top it all off.

    Family trip ruined

    rating23 Aug 2025

We have been on a family trip in Belgium and spent three nights at this hotel.Location was very central but we will never return. We never slept as the noise from the main street full of restaurants and bars was noisy with people gathering until early morning. The rooms are obsolete and without air conditioning which can be horrible in the summer.Breakfast was basic and nothing was served sealed but in containers, which can certainly compromise the hygiene.Cleaning of the rooms was not up to standard. The owner/manager was rude beyond believes.

    Great quirky find!!

    rating27 Jun 2025

After reading the reviews didn’t really know what to expect here. 3 nights away with my daughter for a break after exams. Well what can I say? It was excellent, the quirkiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Location was exceptional - so close to all the amazing attractions of Brussels on the actual door step. Breakfast was fairly limited but very good quality and all served with a smile. Lots of restaurants and bars down the road. Grand Place a stones throw away. Rooms although small were clean and efficiently laid out, nothing really negative to say about this place for the price point. Hidden gem. Would consider returning should we come back to Brussels. Thankyou.
