    Terrible unaccessible hotel with unfriendly customer service

    My stay at the Scott Hotel in Brussels was horrible, particularly from an accessibility standpoint.Upon arrival after an international flight, I was informed that the elevator was out of service. As a guest with a mobility limitation in my leg, I require accessible accommodation. I had specifically booked a room on an upper floor with a balcony, relying on the basic expectation of functioning elevator access.From the outset, the hotel insisted that my reservation was non-refundable and refused to cancel the stay. At the same time, staff repeatedly assured me that the elevator issue was temporary and would be resolved shortly.Based on those assurances, I went ahead and accessed the room—by climbing five flights of stairs immediately after a long-haul international flight. This was not a minor inconvenience; it was physically difficult and inappropriate given my disability.No meaningful assistance was provided. My luggage was left in storage downstairs, leaving me without access to my belongings unless I repeatedly navigated the stairs. The elevator was never repaired during my stay, and the assurances I was given proved misleading.Ultimately, the situation made it impossible to reasonably remain at the hotel. I was forced to leave late at night and secure alternative accommodation elsewhere at my own expense.What is most troubling is not only the lack of accessibility, but also the combination of insisting the stay was non-refundable while simultaneously providing inaccurate assurances about the elevator repair. Had I been given truthful information, I would never have agreed to stay under these conditions.This experience fell far below acceptable standards of accessibility, transparency, and basic guest care.     Horrible service.

    The hotel was lovely, but the service unfortunately was horrible. The person at the front desk in the mornings till three pm was horrible and rude, and seemed racist, from what I picked up his name is Vergil. Horrible attitude and extremely rude, does not listen to what the customer wants, but the rest of the staff there was lovely. I stayed for two nights on may 8-10 and we got two rooms, for me and my sister. We came at night and there was a lovely gentleman at the front desk, we got up to our room and saw that it wasn’t up to expectations, so we went down again and asked to switch rooms. The man said they were full, but would empty out tomorrow and that I would have to get to the desk before twelve and speak to his colleague and that it would be taken care of. The next morning, I came down at 9pm and told the person at the desk what had happened and what I was told the night before, and requested again to switch rooms, and he refused to listen. He kept cutting me off with “‘no. No. You think you know more than me? I work here, you’ve only been here one day, you don’t know anything.” Insanely rude. Everytime someone talked to him in a language other than French he’d get this disgusted look on his face and barely even manage to look at them, this includes me. In the end as I walked away he laughed about me to his colleague, and it was honestly a horrible experience. I expected better treatment than this. His name from what I know is Vergil. My daughter forgot her necklaces in the hotel room, and we called to try and see if we could get them shipped back, to no avail.     The carpets in this hotel were filthy and the shower floor was so uneven it was hazardous. The clerk at the front desk was unfriendly and rude. I recommend not staying at this hotel.     The hotel is very well appointed and the breakfast spread is good. However, this is a hotel where most of what you request, will be denied. Services are very poor and definitely not guest oriented. 1) Housekeeping services very poor. They did not do the room on 1 day and the other 2 days, did not replenish amenities. When Front Desk was informed of this, we were told to come and pick up our fresh towels!2) The Front Desk stout gentleman in the morning shift on 02 & 03 Feb was nasty, rude, and seemed racist. The afternoon shift gent was much better though3) There was no minibar in the room, which was quite shocking 4) There was no hot water kettle5) Coffee pods were not replenished. Front Desk told us it was only placed on arrival! Why keep an espresso maker in the room when you do not replenish pods daily?6) Water also was not replenished on day 2 & 37) BF service on 4th morning was cleared with alacrity at 10 am while we were eating. We were not informed even though we were sitting in the bfast dining area. This is a standard and courtesy to be conducted in any hotel around the world. ALL OF THE ABOVE REEKS OF AN ARROGANCE WHICH SPOILED OUR 3 NIGHTS STAY and we would never recommend this hotel to any person.     Cozy, warm and friendly!

    A great Christmas experience in Brussels! Cozy, warm room, tablet with all info needed on the table, along with a modern coffeemaker, coffee capsules and teabags. Soft towels, cozy king-size bed, nice view from the windows and the balcony, even earplugs for a better sleep. TV which can be connected with the mobile phone and a very satisfying breakfast with a wide variety of food and drinks was all I needed to feel welcomed in this incredible city. The staff was very friendly and helpful when I asked for ideas for spending some time around on foot. For sure I'll book there again next time!
