    Great hotel in central Brussels

    rating07 Apr 2026

What a great find this hotel turned out to be!! We made a last minute booking for 4 (two adults and two children aged 6 and 3) and having not stayed in a Thon hotel before we were a little nervous as to what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by what we found. The room was very spacious with a very large comfortable bed. Our children were on the sofa bed which was equally as large and comfortable. Amenities were great, mini fridge which was handy for kids snacks. Bathroom toiletries were a little no frills but ok for a family stay. I would say for a four star hotel the toiletries offered could be a little more luxurious. The bathroom was very spacious and nicely decorated, we had a bath and a separate shower which was great for the kids. The water pressure was amazing! Also a separate toilet to the bathroom which is handy for a family stay. The lobby area was pleasant and the staff on reception were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The kids loved having a little tinkle on the grand piano. The bar and restaurant area is tastefully decorated. We didn't take breakfast in the hotel as it was a little pricey so I cannot comment on the quality of the food. The service from housekeeping was great. We had to request a hair dryer as it was missing from the room and it was brought up immediately which was great. Good sound proofing in the room, we were on the second floor facing the main road and I was a little worried about noise but it was minimal. The black out blinds work very well. The only gripe I have is the pillows were a little lack lustre. I know it's personal preference but I found them to be a little too soft.My Husband used the gym which is said was well equipped and in good order. The location is perfect for seeing the sights of Brussels and getting around the city as it's very close to a tram stop and only a short walk to the Louise metro station. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Brussels. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie, responded to this review Dear Laura,We really appreciate your feedback. Thank you for sharing this detailed review with us.It is wonderful to know your stay at Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie was such a pleasant surprise for your family. We are delighted your room provided ample space and restful sleep for everyone. Our team takes pride in ensuring our accommodations cater to families, and it is heartwarming to hear the soundproofing and blackout blinds contributed to a peaceful stay. We also appreciate your kind words about our reception team and the thoughtful touches like the piano in the lobby that brought joy to your children. However, we regret any aspect of your experience did not fully meet expectations. Our bathrooms are designed with practicality in mind, and while we aim to balance family-friendly convenience with comfort, we will certainly consider your feedback on enhancing the toiletries. Please note that additional amenities are available at the reception upon request. Next time, do not hesitate to contact us directly. Your note about the pillows is also noted, as we understand preferences vary and are glad to offer different options upon request.Nonetheless, we are thrilled the gym facilities and our central location made exploring Brussels effortless for you. Being steps away from tram stops and key attractions is something we always highlight, and it’s fantastic this added convenience to your trip.We hope to see you again on a future occasion.Kind regards,Michael Van Den Bremt, General Manager

    Mixed Feelings

    rating05 Apr 2026

Stayed for three nights with my wife, during a week long trip to wonderful BelgiumTHE GOOD- Well located in upmarket part of Brussels. Very walk-able to main sites and centre- Metro station "Louise" a 10 minute walk and Metro lines easy to use- Good gym with range of equipment- Nicely furnished Bar (although expensive)- Friendly welcome and friendly reception staff- 10 Euro in an Uber from Central stationTHE AVERAGE:- We booked a standard room and were located on 8th floor.- The room size was good, however the bathroom was "tired" and ready for some refurbishment.- The room was very warm and the air-conditioning had no effect. We were advised that the air-con was not yet switched to "cold" and so was circulating air from outside only, so didn't really cool down the room. That said, we initially enquired at reception about the room being hot (thought we may be doing something wrong with air con). A staff member was with us within 5 minutes (c10pm at night), explained the position with the air con, opened the window and offered us the key to open window further and offered to move us to a different room. The window did the trick. The next day we had a note and bar of chocolate - (truely excellent customer service)- Breakfast 38 euro per person is quite expensive. There are lots of eateries in the surrounding areas for breakfast at a much better rate- Housekeeping wrapping the door at 8.30am to service the room (Belgium an hour ahead of Ireland so my body was still at 7.30am!!!)THE NOT SO GOOD- Unfortunately we had to pay twice for this three night stay, as having booked last July on a prepaid basis, we had a family bereavement a couple of days before we were due to travel Having booked initially through a third party operator, the customer service from the hotel was extremely poor, with little to no response to the booking operator or to us direct - and a firm stance taken on not accommodating a date change - so for us, very poor customer service during a difficult period and had to pay twice to move our stay. So I would caution against a pre-paid rate. Per above, this was very different from the excellent customer service received when staying when we enquired on the room temperature.Overall, mixed experience, but I would recommend the hotel for a stay based on location, overall standards and friendly / welcoming staff Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie, responded to this review Dear Paolo,Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us.We are delighted that you appreciated several aspects of your stay, such as the spacious accommodations, the gym facilities and the warm reception extended to you and your wife. It is equally gratifying to know you found our bar inviting and enjoyed the helpfulness of our front desk team. Your recognition of our efforts to resolve the room temperature issue and the prompt assistance from our staff is truly appreciated. However, we are sincerely sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We take note of your comments about temperature control, the bathroom’s upkeep, breakfast costs, and the early housekeeping visit. Most importantly, we regret that your experience with the booking change during a difficult time did not receive the supportive attention you deserved. Please know that your comments have been shared with the relevant teams for consideration.Nonetheless, we are pleased to hear that our central setting on Avenue Louise, along with the easy access to public transportation and nearby attractions, contributed positively to your overall experience. We do hope to welcome you back for an improved experience.Best wishes,Michael Van Den Bremt, General Manager

Productive Stay in Brussels: Comfort, Space, and a Welcoming Team

    rating18 Mar 2026

I had a very pleasant stay at the Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie in Brussels. The overall experience was very positive. The hotel stands out for its excellent cleanliness standards and a genuinely welcoming and professional reception team, which made both check-in and the entire stay smooth and enjoyable. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable, offering plenty of room to relax. Despite being located on the street side, the room was surprisingly quiet — you could barely hear the tram passing nearby, which is definitely a plus in a central location. The bathroom, while fully functional, felt a bit outdated and not particularly aligned with more modern, eco-friendly standards. Replacing the bathtub with a shower would be a valuable upgrade in terms of both sustainability and convenience. The only real downside was that the bathroom towel heater (radiator) did not work throughout my stay. Fortunately, the temperature was mild, so it didn’t significantly impact comfort, but it’s something that should be addressed.Overall, a very good experience. I would definitely consider staying here again. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for providing us with your candid feedback. We are delighted to hear your time with us was enjoyable. Our team takes great pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and providing a warm welcome to all our guests.Regarding the bathroom amenities, we regret any inconvenience caused and want to mention that we’re currently in the process of updating our bathrooms to align with modern standards. This project is part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and guest comfort.Nevertheless, we’re thrilled to hear that you valued our location on Avenue Louise. It’s wonderful to know you found your bedroom spacious and appreciated the quiet atmosphere, even with our central location. We all hope to welcome you in the future.Best wishes,Michael Van Den Bremt, General Manager
