Location

This first-class hotel is located in the Belgian capital of Brussels between the city centre and the Gare du Midi. A free-of-charge shuttle bus transfers hotel guests to the main sights of interest including the architecturally magnificent Grand Place, the wonderful bourgeoisie square with a gothic town hall and the nearby Saint Michel Cathedral. The Männeken Pis, a 60 centimetre-tall bronze statue in the old town is very popular with tourists. Further sights of interest include the Arc de Triomphe in Cinquantenaire Park as well as the art Deco Sacre Coeur Basilica. Public transport links may all be found only 200 metres from the hotel, allowing guests to explore this interesting city extensively.

The hotel has 124 rooms, including 33 single rooms and 87 double rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by 3 lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Additional facilities include a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     The hotel itself is nice, super white sheets and towels, clean rooms, didn’t try breakfast. The neighborhood is another story…dirty, not suited and risky for tourists especially at night. Avoid this area, not recommended!!

    Not recommended at all to be honest. We uber door to door and don’t know how we didn’t run into trouble walking from the train station to here. Maybe because I walk strong????

    Clean and Stylish Budget Stay, but Location Has Its Downsides

    I stayed for two nights in Brussels with a friend at Hotel Van Belle, and overall, it was a positive experience—especially considering the price.The hotel was very clean and appears to have been recently renovated. The interior design is modern and stylish, which was a pleasant surprise for a budget-friendly hotel. That said, this is not a luxury hotel, and it doesn’t try to be. You’ll find all the essentials—towels, a hairdryer, and basic amenities—but instead of glassware or porcelain cups, there are simple cardboard cups provided. For us, this was perfectly sufficient.The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which made a great impression. The lobby area includes a space that functions as a bar in the evening and a breakfast area in the morning, which was convenient and nicely arranged.The location is fairly practical in terms of transport. The hotel is about a 10–15 minute walk from Brussels Midi train station and the nearest metro station, and the city center is also within reasonable walking distance.However, the surrounding area was the biggest downside of our stay. The streets were noticeably dirty during our visit, and it wasn’t clear how often they are cleaned. The neighborhood didn’t feel particularly comfortable, especially after dark, when there were quite a few people around who made the area feel a bit unsafe. Because of this, I would recommend being cautious when walking outside at night.In summary, Hotel Van Belle is a great choice if you’re looking for a clean, affordable, and stylish place to stay with friendly service—but the location may not suit everyone, especially if safety and surroundings are a priority.

    Stayed three nights, nice lovely modern hotel. Greeted with a warm welcome from man at the desk. It’s about a 15 min walk from the train station and a 15 minute walk to the city Centre for the Christmas markets. We didn’t try the food, but it was an option for breakfast and dinner. Room was spacious and clean and thought it was good value for money. The area where the hotel is might not suit a lot of people, but we had no trouble.

    When I booked this through hotels.com it only showed me the good reviews and once I searched here I honestly wondered what have I done. I can honestly say we had a lovely experience. Nice hotel, comfy clean room. Changed our towels every day. TV even had BBC channels. They dont gave AC but that didnt affect us personally. Safe are provided. Check in was very sinple and there is a working lift as well as stairs. The hotel itself is also a nice modern style. All staff where very polite and friendly. The hotel is in a great location for the Brussells midi train station if you want to explore other towns. Weekend train tickets also had 50% off.Now alot of reviews were negative about the area. Yes it has a lot of rubbish along the pavements and yes it isn't picture perfect, however I didn't once feel unsafe walking and that included in the middle of the night from the transfer bus. It is a very cultured area but that isn't a negative to me. Would I stay here again? Absolutely With all the negative reviews I read i felt it was only far to share my nice experience
