    Very good hotel

A really nice hotel. It's so central and handy for everything in the town. Nice rooms. Clean and just what you need. Super shower! The breakfast was a little expensive and was not something that we had because of this Vladimir Ayrapetian, Service clients/Réception at Novotel Charleroi Centre, responded to this review Dear Steve,Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed our hotel, its central location, and the comfort of the rooms. We hope to welcome you again soon.Kind regards,VladimirFront Office Manager

15 minutes from the airport in the city center

    rating02 Oct 2025

Hotel located on the upper floors of a shopping center. Very friendly and professional staff. Clean rooms, rather basic but comfortable, lighting could probably be improved.Overall, a good stay. Communication about the parking could be improved, because the pedestrian entrance to the hotel (where Google Maps takes you) is on the opposite side from the parking lot, and to get there you have to drive around the city center again, which takes about 10 minutes. Vladimir Ayrapetian, Service clients/Réception at Novotel Charleroi Centre, responded to this review Dear L0II0A,Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciated our team and the comfort of your room. We also take note of your comments regarding parking and lighting to improve the experience for future guests. We hope to welcome you again soon.Vladimir, Front Office Manager

    A pleasant stay, but overpriced?

    rating30 Jul 2025

Very similar to ‘The Village’ hotel chain in UK, therefore we felt the hotel was over priced. Whilst we had a pleasant stay we don’t feel it was good value for money and is rated too highly. Summary: Ok for a short break, wouldn’t stay again for the price we paid. (However we didn’t see anywhere nicer in Charleroi!)We arrived late from the airport to be told at check in our payment had not been received. We were asked if we’d booked with ‘said company’ I explained that we hadn’t used that company. The receptionist said they’d sent several emails and had no reply, and at almost midnight was asking me to get in contact with the company. At the time, I couldn’t. We had no further contact with reception so assume it was sorted. Room- comfy bed, slept well. Toiletries were nice in the bathroom. Good amount of towels. Good sized TV, not many English channels opposed to others. Bathroom had open shower and hair dryer. Not many hangers in the wardrobe. WiFi was good. USB charging ports did not work in our room. The room was very dark, no ‘big light’ only small bedside lights. The bathroom door was heavy and opened both ways by pushing, no lock/handle. We didn’t feel this was very safe with young children. The only mirror was in then bathroom. We didn’t open the curtains as we were directly opposite an office block, this wasn’t ideal with the room being so dark!Breakfast- nice, loved the fresh orange juice and pastries. There were quite a few flies around though which wasn’t great, especially when you can see them on the food. We were there for the F1 weekend and Sunday morning breakfast was quite busy, the staff worked hard and food was replenished quickly. The pancakes were nice but you had to be quick if you wanted them warm. The dining area was very small for the number of rooms. Some tables were down the middle of the entrance/reception area! Advice would be to get there in time if you have plans/a train to catch! Extras- I had emailed prior to arrival requesting a cot, unfortunately this email was not acknowledged and we had no cot. You access the hotel from a door on the street, you then go into the lift to reception. Once inside you must use your room card to make the lift work to take you to the bedroom floors. When we were dropped off the taxi driver had commented that there was no security around here, he stayed with us until the buzzer was responded to and we were let in the hotel. We appreciated this but it did make me wary of walking around the streets later in the evening. When leaving we were allowed to keep our cases in a small room in reception until later in the day for no fee. Charleroi: I had read several reviews and watched YouTube videos prior to leaving and was a little worried, but we actually had a great stay here. Brilliant access to the train station- this took us to Paira Diaza Zoo and Spa F1, and then into Brussels! We also used the bus station to get the shuttle bus to take us to the airport, €6 each (we missed the last one by 10 minutes on arrival, taxi cost €30) We found a supermarket close by and stocked the room fridge with drinks/treats. There’s a brilliant shopping centre right by the hotel, a Mcdonlads and Burger King for those that need home comforts, and a wide variety of restaurants and cafes to choose from too. We could see a lot of places that needed some love/upgrading but also many places that were newly renovated and busy. Hopefully these improvements will continue and Charleroi will become much more appreciated. Vladimir Ayrapetian, Service clients/Réception at Novotel Charleroi Centre, responded to this review Dear OHappyOhols0,Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay overall and appreciated our breakfast, room comfort, and location. We’ll take your comments on board to improve the experience for future guests. We hope to welcome you again soon.Vladimir, Front Office Manager
