  Good location, modern family room. Helpful staff on reception. The breakfast was a big let down the hot food was terrible all bacon burnt to a crisp, watery eggs and awful beans. Continental offered just about ok. We expected better from the breakfast offer of a 4 star hotel.   Nice hotel with major reachability trap

  The hotel is nicely situated at the very city centre of Gent. Also nothing to complain about the rooms, the cleanliness, the overall atmosphere or the breakfast.The bad thing is that the hotel does not give clear directions of how to get to it. It is situated in a restricted traffic area and, when entering by car, one has to register the car in advance or the day after at the latest to avoid a major fine. There was no clear and obvious indication on the hotel homepage, on any email communication from the hotel or by the receptionist, whom we told about our difficulties to get to the hotel while checking in.And the very bad thing was that, while we tried to drop a friendly feedback to the receptionist at checkout, the manager in duty popped up and started to teach us what we have done wrong, to complain about the city administration and that there is not need at all for improvement on the side of the hotel. Very unprofessional, no service mentality, very unpleasant. Eventually, this f* your guest attitude will probably cost us an extra 185 € fine which could easily have been avoided.   Nice bright, clean and comfortable hotel. Very well situated right in the centre but still very quiet. Service friendly and efficient. Charge for storing your bags, approx 9 euro for 8 hours.   We had great stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and quiet. We had great sleep. The staff are friendly. The location is great. We can walk to nearly anywhere. Shops and restaurants around the hotel. Free hot drinks at the lobby.   Basic, clean and comfortable, ideally situated for exploring Ghent

  We arrived slightly earlier than check in tine but our room was ready so we were able to access our room. We asked for a room in a quiet area and were given 219 at the end of the corridor. The room was basic but comfortable, with a single and a double bed, small area for clothes, a desk and chair, it also had air-conditioning.The room overlooked a large building under construction but thankfully no work was being done while we were there. We liked that we had floor to ceiling windows which could be opened to get air through. The bathroom was small but featured a toilet and good powered shower.No tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but this is offered for free in reception. Reception also has a small number of chocolate bars, crisps and drinks available to purchase.Our rate included breakfast which was held on the mezzanine level. Hot options were bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms and frankfurter style sausages. Then cold options were ham, cheese, cucumber, yoghurts and fruit. Pastries included huge croissants, pain au chocolats, and some other smaller varieties.The staff we engaged with were friendly and all of the areas we kept clean.Hotel was a 20 minute walk from the station, however we got a taxi which cost €15. The hotel is ideally located for exploring the city.My only complaint would be that the bedroom door rattled loudly everytime another bedroom door was opened, it was like an air lock which was annoying during the night. We could also hear the noise from the busy street below.This is a basic no frills hotel which was perfect for our short two night stay.
