    Beautiful hotel

    rating23 Apr 2026

What a beautiful hotel. We stayed in room 12 which is huge and in the main hotel. The room has tall ceilings and beautifully decorated. It has a nice view of the Castle of the Counts from the windows. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean and more importantly it was very quiet too. We don’t have breakfast but we did enjoy sitting in the bar area which also was very lovely. The reception staff guy was very helpful and friendly. And he gave us good recommendations for places to eat etc. We didn’t ask his name but he was from Georgia. A very nice professional guy.

    Stinky room and dull breakfast

    rating28 Dec 2025

Already on our first night at Gravensteen we were met by a horrible smell of sewage in one of the rooms. The staff had a very reserved tone and just shrugged it off as if it was a thing that normally happens. The breakfast wasn’t very good either, just dull bread and some synthetic juice.Their website also claims to have a fitness and sauna… I don’t think you can call old, stinky, worn down basement rooms with few to no machines and a shower without a curtain “facilities”. Other than that the beds were fine and it is indeed a really good location.

    Lovely Hotel

    rating05 Nov 2025

Lovely hotel with friendly & helpful staff. We asked if we could change rooms as the bed was too small for my very tall husband they upgraded us & gave us a suite. Well situated with the castle literally round the corner & 5 minute walk to the square. We got ubers to the train station to visit bruges & Antwerp. Never had breakfast in the hotel as plenty of cafes around especially the one opposite.

    Hotel Gravensteen, Ghent.

Lovely room, over looking the castle. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice en-suite shower. We booked just for a night, they allowed us to store the luggage until we were ready to leave. We don’t eat there, but it is ideally situated close to wonderful eateries.

    Happy short stay

    rating29 Mar 2025

The hotel is well situated, being close to all the major attractions and is attractive in appearance with an intimate bar area. Our large room was cleaned every day to a good standard and was comfortable. The bonus was it had a bath! Breakfast included a range of food that suited us well, and was served from 6.30 to 10.00am, so good for a lie in. When I asked if more fruit was available, this was provided without delay. We really appreciated the helpfulness of all staff, with nothing being too much trouble. The manager during our stay was Irfan and he was particularly thoughtful in ensuring our stay was good and that we were happy. We will stay there in the future.
