    Friendly and helpful staff. Our garden view room was very small and you couldn’t see much garden! The bathroom had been renovated but then they put a filthy stained bin in there. Also the towels were the thinnest, tiny and frayed, very disappointing. Other than that it was ok. After breakfast we went up to our room to bring our cases down and the key card had been blocked! This was 1030 and checkout was 11. No-one asked if our stay was good when we left.

    We stayed here for 4 nights. Very comfortable. Spacious rooms, very clean. Beds were comfortable. Desk staff very friendly and helpful. Location was good, centrally located, easy walking distance to attractions/tram service. Would stay here again!

    Beautiful Hotel in a lovely location. The hotel is really unique and great to explore the grounds and common areas. They even have an old church. The garden courtyard is fab too.We were a large group of 9 and everyone was happy with their rooms. We had a garden room and it was so moderate and spotless clean.Staff were so friendly too. The only reason for 4 star instead of 5 was the letdown with breakfast. If you don't go down early there will be very little hot food left and I suppose being a smaller hotel they don't keep refilling as much.Overall I would recommend this hotel. A beautiful unique experience.

    Bed Bugs

    This property has bed bugs. I discovered this at midnight - the night guard was unbelievably rude and argumentative when I raised this as an issue. He was dismissive and aggressive and frankly I’ve never experienced anything like it. The ladies at reception were very nice, tumble dried my clothes after I washed them, I was given an alternative room for the rest of the night and the hotel issued me a full refund, that is to be honest the least they could do. I am covered in bites, had to book a new hotel for the rest of my trip and this cast a bit of a pall over the holiday. Both staff members I spoke to were keen to insist the hotel wasn’t at fault as they had just had a lot of guests from the city festival. Make of that what you will. The property is charming and well located but the cleanliness and self-admitted capacity to handle large numbers of guests in these circumstances leaves a huge amount to be desired.
