  Stressful. Dirty and below the basic hotel

  Awful hotel worse I have ever stayed in, beds were dirty full with dirt in beds. Dirty towels. And on second night staying there they double booked our room so was unable to get into our room. To then be told that don’t worry the previous couple that was allocated our room had taken a video of our room with all my personal information in ie passport and address details. Not happy to say the least. I was reassured not to worry. Then on third night there I tried to get into my room 212 and was told that that room had been checked out and I was unable to be allocated a room key. So whenever I needed to go up to my room had to find a member of staff to take me to my room. When I asked to speak to a manager funny enough not one in sight. Would not recommend this hotel. Dirty and awful experience. As for Belgium itself beautiful but as for hotel disappointing and stressful.

  We had a pretty short stay. Late arrival and we had to leave early. Everythinh ok. Good bed, good shower, friendly staff, conveniently located, parking next to the hotel, centre Kortrijk easily accessible. Fair price. Breakfast available but we had to leave early so we can t judge that.   We were looking to stay somewhere in Kortrijk for a couple of days while our son was taking part in an event nearby. This hotel seemed to fit the bill.First the good parts: the location is great, the town of Kortrijk is very pleasant and the reception was welcoming and recently renovated.But the room wasn't up to standard. It was very tired, the bathroom was smelly and the lights took forever to come on. There was also quite a lot of noise from within the hotel.I won't be staying here again, and it has put me off booking an Ibis again any time soon.   We stayed at the hotel as part of a group travelling into Lille for the Rugby World Cup. The location was great, central to the town, the train station and cafe culture in abundance! The reception, bar and lounge area in the hotel were nice and welcoming, but the corridors to the rooms need a bit of TLC, they feel like you’re in an office building. Our room was large and the decor was okay … basic … but okay. The bathroom in particular could have used a little maintenance. The towels had seen better days and were literally threadbare and tattered at the edges. Room was clean however, and the bed was comfortable. We had a room looking out on to the square, great view! However, we noticed some ear plugs on the desk … we needed them. There are some bars a few doors up and they were open to the early hours with lots and lots of noise, low bass music, shouting, screaming etc including motorbikes, loud cars revving and traffic noise. The windows seemed like they did nothing to filter any of the sound. So, if this is a make or break for you, make sure you don’t have a room in that part of the hotel. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful with lots of fresh cold and hot food, cereals, pastries etc. Overall it was fine, rough round the edges for sure, but served it’s purpose.
