  Ideal Location For Football Stadium and City Centre.

  I stayed here for just 1 night on a trip to Mechelen to watch football - Mechelen v Westerlo. I walked from the main train station through the City to the hotel. It took me about 20 minutes. The train station at Mechelen Neckerspool is nearer. The hotel was more than adequate for my requirements. Modern rooms with all the amenities I needed. The breakfast choice and options were good except that it took a long time for some options to be replenished. Some were empty for 15 minutes or one before being filled up. It's only a minor issue but can have a significant negative impact on a customer and their impressions of the hotel itself. The Football ground was just a 10 minute walk away. I enjoyed looking around Mechelen the following day before travelling back to Brussels on the train to catch Eurostar back to London.Mechelen is a lovely place and I recommend a visit. I found a small local bar just around the corner from the hotel and it was superb with great beer options. If this hotel replenishes the breakfast options as and when requited then it will help improve the customer experience because overall its a good hotel .   Booked the hotel weeks head for convenient access to the city center and railway station. We ended up not doing either. Moderate easy access in center city. Limited underground hotel parking with alternate nearby public parking. There is no elevator from the parking to the reception: hauling luggage!Upon arrival we were promptly greeted and our reservation recognized. Elevators to the rooms. The room was a tiny tight room. The bed and covers were comfortable and the low noise level made for a good night's sleep. Very limited storage space for clothing. We lived out or suitcases stashed next to the bed. The few accessories were functional. The warm and cold breakfast buffet looked and tasted great in a comfortable setting. A good way to start the day. Because of the weather the patio was closed.   We stayed for two nights, and found the hotel to be very good value. Room was reasonable sized and well appointed. Beds comfortable. Hotel was within easy walking distance of most places of interest as it is only a small but beautiful city. A good breakfast was included, and offered both continental and hot food on a buffet system. We were well looked after by the friendly staff, apart from the last evening when we were ignored at the bar while the only member of staff continued to check guests in, despite when some of them arrived after we went to the bar. After more than 20 mins we gave up and retired for the evening. Guests travelling by car should be aware that parking is €19.5 per night (Sep 2025) and there is no lift from the parking garage up to reception, and unless you unload at the hotel door before parking, an awkward staircase has to be negotiated.   Excellent hotel and great staff.

  Maya on reception is exceptionally good at her job. Friendly, helpful and welcoming. All of the staff greet you with a smile.The room is a good size, with a comfortable chair and a desk. The bathroom, like the room, is spotlessly clean. Dove toiletries.I had asked for a room at the back and - unlike many hotels - Maya had a note of that request. Our room was right at the back. Not a sound.The WiFi is very good. The AC is excellent and it actually cools the room. So many hotels only run the AC on fan. For some reason, I didn’t notice, when I booked, that the hotel has parking underneath. Luckily, there was a spot available so we moved from the underground car park in Veemarkt. Best to reserve, as spaces are very limited. Access to the hotel from the car park is by stairs only, so take heavy luggage out before parking. Breakfast has choice and quality.We will definitely stay at the Holiday Inn Mechelen again.   Very nice hotel

  Very good hotel for 1-3 day. Located in the center of the city . The personnel is nice and friendly. Possible to park a car in the garage ( but limited spot and small spaces). Breakfast ok . Clean but small rooms. Nearby you have market with plenty of restaurants and shops.
