    Best place in San Pedro. Everyone was kind and friendly. The restaurant and bar are topnotch. Enjoyed the views, beach, and music at night. Comfortable bed and nice room. Great location for exploring the town. Highly recommend

    Not at all what the pictures look like. First impression is that the place is old, walls are quite thin. Rooms are tiny. Not even a chair to sit in, no luggage rack. The ocean view is not so much ocean as pool. The pool I’m looking at is tiny. Also there’s no elevator so prepare to climb stairs. We are in the fourth floor so we will get our cardio in.

    Quiet and relaxed, but room smelled of mildew (maybe hard to avoid in such a humid area?). Made the best of this and loved the restaurant (beach bar) at the hotel!

    About a decade ago I became accustomed to luxury hotels. That said, I did not grow up in luxury. I chose this hotel knowing the rooms would be dated. I have no regrets. None. This hotel is AMAZING. First, the people exceeded all my expectations, more about them later. The room was 2D, a king bed (it seems they can swap out the beds, so don't quote me on this). We never saw a critter of ANY kind in our room. We did see one of the MANY cats that live at the hotel on our balcony for a second. The A/C was flawless, we turned it off when we left and fired it up when we came back. It was very efficient. I had read other reviews about cats screeching and noise from neighbours; I brought my Loops and only used them one night when there was a live band (not Bamboo Chicken, don't come for me!! 😂) .There's one pool that seems to be aging more than the other. They are both clean and good, just one is "prettier". It is what it is. We saw the pools of other hotels and some are much worse, some are better. Go get beach towels from reception. The food at Caribbean Villas is amazing. The fry jacks are big and delicious. It's not like hotels in Canada where food at the hotel is twice as expensive as food from surrounding establishments; it's on par for the most part.Safety. I'm a 50 year old woman. I always felt safe. I wandered the hotel grounds alone daily. This hotel is on a main road. You cannot hear it. I mean, maybe you *can* hear it, but it never stood out to me. I did wake up on my first morning home quite disoriented...realized I couldn't hear the sea.The hotel grounds are incredible. From the road to the hotel itself there is INCREDIBLE foliage. Golf carts, small lizards, birds, cats, and plants. That's what you get. That's something this hotel doesn't get enough credit for; the breathtaking amount of foliage. There's a lot of shade to be had!!Go to The Beach Bar!! Glen, Yanira, Monica, Daniel, Iris, and Royan are top notch. Regading food and drink, ask them for anything, if they can do it, they will! Just ask nicely. ~They rake the beach every day.~The beach loungers are more aged than the pool loungers.~They are constantly updating the hotel.~There is free filtered water available; buy once and refill or bring your own travel cup. ~HomeTan is RIGHT NEXT to the hotel. They have almost everything you could need. ~Get up before sunrise, go watch the sunrise.

    The room could be described as rustic. All wood. Bathrooms could use an upgrade. We loved sitting on the large wooden deck on the third floor overlooking the pool, beach and bar/restaurant. Coffee Maker and small fridge in room. Self serve water dispenser available on each floor. Our only issue was that the family who were staying in the two rooms above us were heavy ‘walkers’ and quite nosy . Because rooms are just wood walls, sound carries. You are also sharing decks with other rooms. Would we stay here again for a few days - yes!
