Location

This hotel is located along the historic Belize River in Burrell Boom village, a quiet waterfront community. Belize embodies the type of rural area where residents maintain a peaceful coexistence with their unspoiled natural surroundings and flora and fauna abound. The tourism village is a 30-minute drive away, as is Belize city. The hotel lies around 25 km north of the international airport.

Facility

The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand and a TV room. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car. Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and a fan. A balcony is among the standard features of some rooms. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Sport

Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool area. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. Those who wish to stay active while on holiday can enjoy cycling/mountain biking and fishing. For a fee, horse riding is also available. With snorkelling or, for a fee, windsurfing, paddle boating, banana boat rides, canoeing and diving available, fans of water sports have plenty of options to choose from. Meals

Various dining options are available, including a café and a bar. The restaurant has air conditioning and high chairs for children. Catering options include half board, full board and all-inclusive. A continental breakfast gives guests many appetising reasons to get out of bed in the morning. Delicious set menus are available at lunch and dinner. Special meals, including diet meals, are also available. The resort also offers special catering options. The resort offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    We booked a week at the Black Orchid Resort not knowing what to expect. What we found was beyond our expectations. From pickup and drop-off services at the airport to the lodging, dining, experiences and grounds, every aspect of our stay was wonderful. The resort is a perfect location to anchor down while you spend your days going on any of the numerous excursions they offer or just relaxing in the pool and riverside bar. The atmosphere is like a luxurious jungle experience where you are joined by troops of howler monkeys each day and the rooms are spacious and clean. The entire staff including office, wait staff, housekeeping, groundkeepers, tour drivers and guides are friendly and anticipate your every need and desire. We are lucky to have stumbled into this jewel of a resort and are sure to return on our next trip to Belize.

    Monkeys and birds and Belikins by the pool

    We chose to spend our last afternoon and evening in country here and we're sure glad we did. It's 20 minutes to the airport but it feels like the edge of the jungle. We followed two families of howler monkeys around the grounds, which was a great way to say goodbye to Belize after two amazing weeks. There are tropical birds everywhere . We hung out at the pool with Belikins in hand . The people are great. The food is pretty good. We'll stay here again if we need a place pretty close to the airport .     Quiet jungle accomodations

    Kind of in the middle of nowhere. This was our first accomodation on an organized tour. Quiet, on the river. Nice pool. Separate buildings on 2 floors (no elevator) with about 10 units each. Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Seperate bar building. Good take off point for birding or Lamanai expeditions.
