Location

The hotel is located in the town of San Ignacio in Belize. Restaurants, bars and shops, as well as a nightclub, can be found just a few minutes’ walk away. A metro station can be found around 25 metres away. The hotel is situated just 30 minutes from the city of Belmopan and 2 hours from the beach of Placencia. Among the nearby places that guests may wish to visit are Cahal Pech, which is about 5 minutes away by car, and Iguana Park, which is just 2 minutes away. Guests can also visit Xunantunich, which is around 15 minutes’ drive away, or Mountain Pine Ridge and Actun Tunichil Muknal, which are each approximately 40 minutes’ drive away.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 29 rooms, including 12 junior suites, apartments, 2 single rooms and 14 double rooms, located in a 2-storey main building and a 4-storey auxiliary building. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. The grounds of the bungalow complex feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services and facilities include a transfer service, an alarm call service and a coin-operated laundry. Travellers with bicycles can make use of the on-site bicycle storage area.

Rooms

Air conditioning and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is included as standard in some rooms. Rooms have a double bed or a king-size bed. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a microwave. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower. The sports and entertainment facilities at the complex ensure that guests have plenty of activities to choose from during their stay. While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. Sun loungers and parasols on the terrace invite guests to relax and unwind. A wellness area with a solarium is available in the complex.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a bar and a pub. Guests can indulge their palates at the non-smoking restaurant, which features air conditioning and a separate area for smokers. Bed and breakfast can be booked. A continental breakfast guarantees a great start to the day. The complex also offers picnics.

    The room was average. The walls were tin and we could hear the people next to us.When we left they took us 10 dollars because two cups are missing. But the glasses never been in the room .Don’t recommend it

    “An absolutely lovely stay. The charming cottages offered a peaceful retreat, impeccably clean and thoughtfully maintained. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, making every moment feel effortless and comfortable. From the serene atmosphere to the excellent service, everything was simply wonderful. A beautiful place to unwind — I truly enjoyed my time here and would happily return.”

    Midas Belize is a nice, quiet hotel set in lush foliage at the edge of San Ignacio, a short walk (5-10 min) from town. For us this was a huge plus as it is quiet and tranquil. Midas is very close to the market, which wasn't particularly nice (mostly fruits/veg and resale clothes) and across the street from the best supermarket that we saw in all of Belize (though still small). Also very close to Guava Limb, a very notable restaurant. The hotel itself is slightly more rustic than the pictures present. Rooms are very large, comfy and clean, and AC worked well. Coffee pot didn't include coffee or filters. Refrigerator worked well. We stayed in 2 deluxe king rooms (side by side) in a building with about 8 rooms. The walls were paper thin. I would recommend a stand-alone cabana instead. Pool looked nice but it rained while we were there so we didn't use it. Made-to-order breakfast (not included) was very good but really slow. Didn't eat dinner there as planned as the menu was limited and ambience just wasn't there -- garish LED lights and sparse decorations. Would stay here again in San Ignacio.

    Convenient location. Nice balcony. Lovely pool. Great restaurant & bar. Excellent staff. Needs better water pressure. Needs hot water quicker for showers. Otherwise, staying there was a wonderful experience.

    I really would not recommend this hotel. It has seen far better days. The cabin style rooms are cramped, out dated. No place to hang clothes, despite there being clothes hangers, no place to sit really. One working lamp out of two, a TV with no sound. The lighting was so poor.
