  Wonderful introduction to the warmth and efficiency of Brazilian people and a great location

  This is a typical and well-established (not new) Ibis Hotel , comfortable beds minimalist decor, ok shower facilities and inviting lobby space. It distinguishes itself by the courtesy, helpfulness and friendliness of its staff as well as a great location. Located in a safe part of the city, it is two steps from an 'organically' oriented food store (great bottled coconut water) and about a 100 metres to the Botofogo metro. There are useful buses close by as well. I used one to go to the jardin botanico. Also the location is close to Copacabana and Ipanema so I took taxis. There is a mid-sized shopping Centre Shopping Botofogo within walking distance. It has exceptional views of the bay and Sugar Loaf mountain with panoramic windows on the high floors. If you want a comfortable hotel in a good location where you will feel at home and move around Rio easily, this is a great choice. The staff are very patient with helping you to visit the city, and give good directions and advice. There was always at least one person who could understand English. They were so nice that I stayed there twice, on arrival and on return from my conference. I even decided which local football team to support based on staff advice. An excellent place to stay if you want to connect to the city and its people and feel safe .It was busy during the period of my stay so book ahead.   Excellent hotel. Super clean and modern. Everything works without any issue. Nice safe área and metro station is 1 minute walk. Very good breakfast.   Great location, safer feeling than many other areas around Rio

  The location is excellent and you can Uber easily (and not expensive) to many popular sites. It is located near many restaurants that are within walking distance and the area around this hotel felt generally more safe than walking around other areas of Rio. The Botafogo mall is very close. The Metro/Subway station is down the street and very easy to use to get to many beaches (e.g. Copacabana, Ipabema, Leblon, etc). The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.   Great Value Stay in Rio with Friendly Staff and Clean Rooms

  I stayed in a very clean double room and had a very good experience. The hotel doesn’t provide extras like slippers, which I expected and brought my own, but I was surprised that only bath towels were provided with no hand towels. The only bin is in the bathroom, and it would be helpful to have one in the room as well.The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and some spoke English, which made things much easier. The location is convenient busy but safe and it was easy to get an Uber to pick you up or drop you off right outside the hotel. The room had a fridge, which was empty, making it handy to stock up from the nearby supermarket. The price was also very reasonable for Rio, making this a practical and comfortable base for exploring the city. As a solo female traveller I felt very safe here.   Wifi cut out for like 24 hours so I complained. As a compensation, they promised me 2 free dinner vouchers. They ended up honoring only one. I should have recorded the manager promising it on video or had him write it down on a piece of paper. I only received verbal agreement and had no way to prove it when they kept falsely accusing me of lying about the extra dinner voucher.
