    A poorly maintained no-frills hotel close to Rio de Janeiro airport

    I spent two nights at Linx Galeão Hotel on a business trip to Brazil 🇧🇷. Because of meetings in the area I decided not to stay at a Copacabana, Ipanema or Leblon hotel. It was the right decision from an efficiency standpoint but you normally don't want to stay near the airport in a place like Rio. However, in about five minutes a 24-hour operated shuttle takes you from the terminal to the hotel, which is very convenient. Linx Galeão's concept is to offer basic accommodation at moderate prices. It somehow succeeds. Rooms only offer basic features with a long desk, a minibar, a full-length mirror, a fixed luggage rack, a few shelves and a hanging bar. White painted walls, grey tiles on the floor and pretty much no decoration. All this has probably worked for some time. However, my room and the bathroom were showing serious signs of wear with dirty and stained walls and windows, broken furniture and rusted shower door. The air conditioning was working well and although the hotel is located along the airport highway it is very quiet. The front desk staff was welcoming and efficient with a good English level, which is not necessarily very common in Brazil hotels. At check-in I complained about a noisy outside air-conditioning system and I was immediately offered to switch room. The breakfast is served from 5:00 am, which is very convenient for an airport hotel but unfortunately the quality of the products served is low. Coffee is absolutely terrible (no espresso available). The options are limited and the presentation very unattractive. Overall, despite the very convenient location I would not recommend staying at the Linx Galeão Hotel because of the poor maintenance and the low quality breakfast.

    I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the airport, and the 24 hour shuttle service. I found the room was clean, comfortable and secure. I felt very safe here.The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful, with options to suit all dietary requirements.The reception team were very friendly and they all spoke good English so I was easily able to arrange a 2pm checkout. This isn’t guaranteed if the hotel is busy, but I got lucky. This gave me the morning to do a bit of last minute sightseeing, then come back for a shower.This hotel is not the cheapest option but it is the best.     We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, close to the airport, with a shuttle service running on time every 20 minutes during the day and every 40–60 minutes at night, which made transfers very easy.The staff provided friendly and welcoming service, and the room was clean, functional, and comfortable—perfect for a short stay or transit night. I can also recommend the restaurant, which offered good food and a relaxed atmosphere.Overall, a convenient and well-run hotel with everything you need for a smooth stay near the airport.     Just right for an airport hotel.

    A well designed and well run no frills airport hotel. Shuttle from the terminal was frequent and the hotel fully geared up for comings and goings at all hours of the day and night. Check in was smooth and the room simple but clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Food was excellent - a good breakfast buffet and freshly cooked dishes in the evening. A little grab and go shop available 24 hours with snacks and drinks was helpful too. Not a destination hotel but a great option for an airport stay at Galaeo.     Disappointing Stay

    We chose this place to stay for a night as we had an early morning flight the next day, and the experience wasn't that great. There was a lot of dust in the room, which made us feel uncomfortable throughout the night. We also tried Pizza in the restaurant, and it was one of the worst we've ever had. It was a frozen pizza and wasn't even appropriately heated, as the base was extremely hard. The only good side was that the hotel staff were friendly and they have a 24/7 shuttle to the airport!
