  Almost impeccable — were it not for the details that echo (quite literally)

  I stayed at this hotel for work, and regrettably for a rather brief period — as is often the case when one finds oneself in Rio de Janeiro, where the inclination to extend one’s stay is nearly irresistible, given the city’s boundless charm, agreeable climate, and abundant attractions.The service is particularly commendable: exceedingly courteous staff, consistently smiling, outgoing, and attentive — a distinctly Carioca brand of hospitality that is both warm and effortlessly welcoming.The room itself is somewhat compact, featuring a modern layout, though not without subtle signs of wear that suggest a degree of maintenance may soon be in order. Nevertheless, it remains clean and functional. The bathroom performs adequately, with a properly functioning shower that affords a pleasantly relaxing experience. The bed is comfortable, complemented by soft, well-kept linens.As for noise — ah, yes. It may prove mildly troublesome for those of a more delicate auditory disposition or for light sleepers. Nothing quite egregious, but certainly perceptible.Breakfast is suitably comprehensive, as one would expect from a respectable hotel in Brazil, offering a satisfactory range of options.The location in Botafogo is quite convenient, with small shops nearby and the ease of exploring the area on foot, which adds a welcome degree of practicality.As for the view — well, here lies a modest exercise in imagination: from my window, I was afforded the rather exclusive privilege of admiring the imposing wall of the neighbouring building. I cannot, therefore, attest to whether more fortunate rooms might offer a glimpse of the illustrious Sugarloaf Mountain. One assumes they might — and sincerely hopes so — but for this slight limitation in perspective, I shall refrain from awarding the coveted “perfect ten with distinction.”All things considered, it is a good hotel, well situated, in a truly spectacular city.

  I am currently staying at this hotel with my partner. I was greeted at the reception by Milena and Luisa, and they were both so lovely and helpful. We were even provided with a better room. They made us feel so excited for our experience here, and informed us of the amenities available and restaurants.

  Rio at Carnaval!

  Enjoyed our 3 night stay here, surrounded by the excitement of the Rio Carnival. The staff were very friendly, especially Zé Carlos who looked after us with coffees when we arrived early from our flight. We liked the range of delicious fruits and cooked food for breakfast.

  Ze Carlos at Novotel ibis , looked after us very well at breakfast times as he spoke English. When we arrived super early on 14/2 after a long overnight flight, before we could check into our room, we were welcomed with complementary coffee and bread roles and invited to relax until we given an early access to our room. We appreciated this warm welcome in Rio from England. Thank you Richard and Elisabeth , much appreciated

  I've stayed at this hotel several times, and I have always found the staff to be excellent into way they interact with their guests. Tatiane and Marley were extremely warm and beyond helpful during my last check-in, and every check-in, which after a 16+ hour trip from the US is greatly appreciated. As others have mentioned, the breakfast staff and selection is excellent. The ladies who look after my room are another true asset to the hotel. Safe, quiet, and the location is ideal, less than a ten minute walk to the metro, and less than 15 minutes by Uber to the main beaches. So why not a 5-star review - I rely on working from the hotel during parts of my stay, and the wi-fi can be room dependant. If you are in the lobby, it is great, but some rooms seem to be in dead-spot, which can make remote working a challenge. However, that is a minor note, and the upsides of the staff and location make this an easy recommendation in the Botafogo area.
